I know we've got injuries and suspensions and I know we've been outrageously lucky with other results for the second week running but we really can't make any more excuses. Does anyone else honestly think we look like a promotion team? Must admit I don't at this moment and could even see us ending outside the play-offs at this rate.

Well then, at the moment we are the best team in the division who cares, if its this form or that form WE ARE TOP, hopefully for the rest of the season and that my friend is all that matters!

Poor performance today and we made them look averagely better than they are. Results went our way and we've actually gained a point rather than taken nothing from the game. I would like to think we will get back to winning ways in the final 6
We are top of the league ;D
Goooarrrnn Stoke!

potters, I'm normally big on glasses half full, please don't think I'm suddenly turning into a pessimist but we've got away and got away with a serious and long form slump and it's starting to scare me, that's all.

For godsake glass half empty or half full? Some of our fans are just soooo negative its unbelievable we dont need negative vibes at this stage of the season thanks! P22, We don't need neagtive performances either mate, but that's SIX games in a row now without a decent display. Six games, one win, three goals scored... I'm not making this up. It's not treason to point this out. I don't want to start blaming anyway but we HAVE to play better than this, we just have to. I honestly don't know how we're still top but we are. There's no way that can last if we don't pull our finger out. I know we technically improved our league position today but we had, by far, the easiest fixture and the other clubs won't be all that displeased by how things have gone. This is especially the case for Hull who have now become the 5th team to become serious romotion contenders off the shocking form of the other four top teams. I'm not expecting miracles but the level of our displays lately has been so very disappointing and if there is still comfort in the fact that we are top there is an equal amount of worry in knowing that we can't sustain it on our present form and that an outstanding season's work by TP and the players could be thrown away at the death.

"outrageously lucky with other results for the second week running"
Surely WBA, Bristol & Watford will be saying the same about our result.
It's not lucky at all - it's just this league!

I honestly don't know how we're still top but we are. There's no way that can least if we don't pull our finger out. Look above your post No one wants it ... no need to panic yet ah Andy, I know mate. It just doesn't comfort me that much that we are staying where we are because of other teams. If you rely on other teams to keep you where you are then it means those other teams also have it within them to knock you off your perch as well. A won today (or against ten man Watford last week) would have left us three points clear. If it was one game where'd played poorly but other teams had lost I could cheer and take solace from it, but not when we're playing poorly on such a consistent basis. It's just so frustrating. I live in hope but we all know deep down that we won't make it if we play the next six games how we've played the last six.

Don't think the team overall is that bad. Just can't get my headaround the midfield Pulis plays. Diao on again when obviously not fit. Players out of position out wide. We desperatley need some pace out wide, and someone who can take a man on. We are so static it's unbelieveable. Doesn't seem as though he thinks it is a problem. Whoever plays up front is going to have to rely on chasing the ball down and mistakes by defenders. Don't think we would have scored today, without their player heading back across his own goal.

Technically Watford, Brizzle & WBA are all within touching distance because all of the top 4 are inconsistent. It isn't just us.
We aren't where we are because of other teams, just as they aren't where they are because of us.

People keep saying we've gained a point. Actually, we've lost two against the form team, Hull. If they continue in their current vein of form there will only be one automatic spot to play for. Doesn't look so good then.
Today we were dire. We haven't looked anything other than dire for weeks now. I'm clutching at straws and hoping the return of Lawrence changes things. We certainly won't go up if we don't drastically improve. We can't continuue hoping everybody else continues to play as crap as we are.....it won't happen.
The main reason we were flying was because of our set plays. Everyone was frightened of them. Without Shawcross, who was the one getting on the end of most of them, we look ordinary at set plays now and we have very little skill to replace them as today and our performances recently have shown.

we just have to hope we can kick into some sort of form and the others don't, because at the moment Hull are flying and brazil can go back above us if they win their games in hand, i know it's an if but our form is very worrying. Even with Fuller and Lawrence in we were bad recently, we haven't had any shape or flow or pattern to our game for a while, it's been all hit and hope again.

We didn't get a draw with a crap team. Despite their league position, Blackpool put on a decent show. They were very direct. As soon as they got the ball, they kept it on the deck and pushed forward. The had us beat for pace.We did go at at them for a while after we scored, and the last ten minutes or so we really had a go. The Gods smiled on us results wise, and apart from Hull, who are going great guns, our form is not so different from the other top sides. WE do need that goalscorer though. Thoght Mama had a decent game. Pugh my MOM, Gally better in the second half. Bothroyd maybe should have started, but it's easy to be wise after the event. Could have won, could just as easily lost. We drew, good point. Two dropped maybe, but still a point. At the moment, we are still AUTOMATIC promotion candidates. Look at the table,

We've been saying 'look at the table' as if it was all done and dusted. It's anything but. The table now is irrelevant. Any of the top five can fill those two top spots with teams having to play 6,7 or 8 games. The table is only relevant at the end of the season and if we continue in this vein of form, we won't be occupying either of the top two spots.
