Dissgraceful last night, the club should be kicked out of the competion for that! If that happened at Stoke then the club would be fined and points deducted. The problem is that it is one rule for one club and one rule for another!

The Barnsley fans, ill-advised though they were, came onto the pitch to celebrate with their players. It's a bit different from that cunt at the Brit yesterday who chucked the bottle or the wanker who got chucked out and needed half of Staffordshire's constabulary to bring him down.

well thats two people out of 18000, it is more than likely that there were a few idiots at Barnsley, I only takes one drugged up/drunk idiot with a knife and then we have a serious problem. Fans should not go on the pitch end of!

Pitch invasion after dramatic cup victory is fine, same as a pitch invasion after dramatically staying up or going up. The difference is that in all key games, we get told that if we have a pitch invasion we'll have many points docked and be thrown out of the competition. That's wrong.

I agree that they shouldn't. I'm just saying that there was a difference between the good natured celebrations and some of our fuckwitted minority to seem determined to ruin things for the rest of us.

Would the defence, that Barnsley did it and nothing was done, hold any water?
The FA should rule on it.... its either 'not at all, under any circumstances' or its ok to celabrate a famous fa cup victory or promotion.
Which means we will be able to invade the pitch next season when we beat a conference north team in the FA Cup (any victory in the fa cup for stoke worth celabrating and invading the pitch)

I know for one I'll be on the pitch if we secure promotion after the Leicester game on May 4th ;D

I can not think of any club (including Stoke City) who have had points deducted for celibratory pitch invasions. Fans shouldn't do it but I must confess to going onto the pitch after we beat Plymouth in 1993 to secure the Second Division Championship.

What I saw were a bunch of fans ecstatic that they had just beat the cup holders to get the semi final of the FA Cup. A pitch invasion for me in those circumstances if perfectly fine. The twats yesterday down the Brit though need banning.

Don't see anything wrong with it personally, fans celebrating with the players not making any trouble.
They just beat the FA cup holders to get to Wembley for Christ's sake and they should do it why ???

But that is Stoke we have some fans who are utter twats but Barnsley fans did nothing wrong so don't see why they should be kicked out off the competition.

The point I'm making is that Barnsley fans didn't cause any trouble what so ever, where as Unfortunatly I could see some prat do that at a Stoke game if we invaded the pitch. So yes we have different rules to other teams E.g Away cards

So yes we have different rules to other teams E.g Away cards The end of the day mate its a crime to go on the pitch so whether they caused trouble or not they commited a crime and should be punished. Letting people on the pitch is a receipe for dissaster - look what happened in Togo! Speeding is a crime which doesn't always cause trouble but can do, so if people are caught speedy they are punished, same should happen with this

It's not a case of there being one rule for one and one rule for another, but just of common sense - no two incidents are exactly the same, and you judge each case on the relevant facts, rather than blankly as one.
Do all crimes carry the exact same sentence? Of course not, circumstances come into play which dictate it.

Sometimes in life, the heart overrules the head, yes ill-advised, but totally understandable in the circumstances.

Presumably no1stokie is a secret Chelsea fan and would like to see them reinstated for the semis - which is what would happen if Barnsley were thrown out of the competition.
I've only ever invaded the pitch once in my life and that was when we were promoted in 1963 - a great day to be a Stokie.

Yeah we can all see that it is wrng to go onton the pitch but fuck it heat of the moment and a big win like that they should flood the pitch with fans.If we get auto i can see alot of ppl getting on the pitch i will be one aswell. So no1stokie if the pitch does get full of people last game of the season you can sit in your seat and shake your head in disgust at all of us on it but i dont think ppl will really give two shits.

Fuck me
Its a crime - so is speeding and we all do it !!
Before football became the sanitised shyte it is now - it WASNT illegal to go on the pitch to celebrate great moments like this one - Just because some twat in Whitehall has made it illegal doesnt mean its wrong FFS.
Of course its wrong to run on and hit someone - It always was before this 'law' was brought into place !!! Shame that due to a few dickheads and an overzealous government this should even need to be debated.
