got plenty of Man City mates from the time I went to Uni there, they are still level-headed about their team and what the expectations are so I think you can ignore the idiot teenagers that roam the internet on Bluemoon.
About the game, I thought that both sides had totally worked each other out and didnt see a goal coming from anywhere second half. Fuller was marked by 2 defenders and we were not that threatening without Ethers and Lawrence playing awful. Introduction of Tuncay was the difference and showed the intention whereas Citeh left 1 upfront most of the game showing fairly negative tactics after than inital 20 minutes burst at the start of the game.
Why wont Mancini play SWP and Bellamy at the same time as well? Those 2 on either wing with Tevez back from injury and Adeboyer is still a damn fine team with Barry and De Jong holding the middle. On paper you are way better than Liverpool, Spurs and Villa so you should get the 4th place.

You've lost me with your list I'm afraid. It is a fact that little old Stoke City are currently the third richest club in the Prem. Don't forget we are one of a very select band that owe no money. You might remember that piece that Sky Sports News ran on the subject towards the end of the transfer window. One of the big name agents (can't remember his name sorry, but I'm sure someone else will) confirmed this in the press. Barry Silkman He said that us and Man City were the clubs with serious money to spend. He said it on 5 live too. That said, spending virtually nowt didn't seem to do us much harm either

We changed to this against Bolton but with Adam Johnson on the left and suddenly after Wilshere running Vieira ragged in centre mid, we began to dominate and we had an outlet on either side. We were desperate for this in the games afterwards and I think had SWP played from the start yesterday, he could have caused you some problems like he did when he came on. It also brings a better tempo if you're wingers are running at the full backs with pace.

I don't like Fergy, but I hold my hands up to him, and I've gotta say that Manure go for the Throat every game, home or away! This is the level you guys at Citeh are aspiring to now, so with the resources, and the Squad you've got, you should be on the front foot. You started well, and for 25 Minutes you were well on top, after that, we got hold of the game, and even though I'm biased, there really did only look like one winner. I've always liked Citeh, I think they are a "Real" club, but the sooner you ge rid of that Negative, Classless Tosser Mancini, the better! Sorry Mate!

Fairplay skyblue, just a point, it must be very worrying when your manager stays in his dugout at halftime in the extra time.....speaks volumes to me about how he may have lost the plot.......and he did by moaning about Pullis afterwards to the media, almost as bad as Wenger but not quite.......yet. You must wish you had Hughsie back, total respect for him.....

He has improved the defence from under Hughes and we've been scoring goals but there are times when we could be going out and scoring more or even being more adventurous. The tempo is one think that looks poor, it's slow and the players are making mistakes a lot. Slow tempo won't work in the Premier League we should be passing short and quick all the time looking for an opening. I hate Fergie too but you're right, United have that quick tempo and attack and go for the result every time. They have the mentality that they need to win every game which is what we need and what I believe Hughes was trying to bring. If Hughes had sorted our defence out we'd have been a brilliant side because when he left we were the 2nd highest scorers in the league. Mancini's defence + the tempo and mentality of Hughes would be great for us.

I have a couple of very good mates who are Citeh fans, proper Mancs and very honest in their assessment of their team. skyblue seems another - so fair play for popping your head above the parapet.
I have always had a soft spot for Citeh, as the real Manchester club. I think the Sheikh's money has somehow gone to the heads of some and created delusions of grandeur. It doesn't help having that monumental dickhead Cook as Chief Exec - sort of Peter Kenyon without a brain! He hardly helps make people warm to the new regime.
Getting rid of Hughes to be replaced by a sophisticated Eyetie was a bollock well and truly dropped IMHO. Mancini is not prepared for the physicality of the English game and wants to play a slow technical Italian way which is not working out. Maybe things will get better after a summer of spending on his own players when he can fashion a team which can play his way, but for now something is just not right.
Despite having some top notch English talent like Barry, Lescott, Richards and SWP, there does seem a lack of real fight. Chelsea and Man Ure have beaten us regularly since promotion because they are able to mix it as well as turn it on, and never give up. We have beaten the Arse twice because of their lack of fighting qualities - it seems a similar malaise is afflicting Citeh. One thing every team has to do against Stoke is fight for their right to play their football - and this is only how it should be, as we are not going to lie down and let teams walk all over us.

The manager isn't allowed to "coach" during HT in extra time but he should have done it anyway until told otherwise by the ref considering Pulis did. Fair play to him too, you were 3-1 up and he was still giving instructions to his team.

Now suddenly we're winning unconvincingly and losing to teams we should be beating (again, no offence but we should) I've agreed with most things you've said, but I take exception to this. There is absolutely no evidence that Man City should be beating Stoke at home. Liverpool, Arsenal, Villa, Spurs etc have all failed to do so. There's only two teams I expect to lose to at the Britannia stadium, and that's the big two. Last season we lost four games at home (two being to the big two) This season we've lost three at home (two being to the big two). At home, we are a force to be reckoned with, a team to be feared. Dismissing us into the "teams we should be beating" category is a big mistake.

I though man city were a piss poor team over the 3 matches. Ballemy was the only player to make a difference last night. I don't like the guy but if he hadn't have played I think we would have cruised the game. There is no way man city will finish 4th. Average players bought for over the odds and only there for a few years of stupid pay

"it looks like now we have money teams raise their game against us and see us as a massive scalp"
In all honesty I don't see Man City as massive in anyway or form, regardless of position or wealth. I'd been gutted if we didn't take anything out of last nights game against you. It's not sour grapes but I think the amount of money you have thrown at some very average players is ludicrous and pathetic to say the least for example Lescott £17,000,000. The money men will soon want to see some return for their money and I'm afraid based on the last three games against us you have little or no chance at all of delivering the required return and when you fall flat on your faces you're on a very slippery slope.

I found it very amusing telling my kid (21) brother mid way through the game, that his grandad was a Man City fan, something he didn't know as he stopped going games after the War, but was at the FA Cup game in 1934 @ Maine Rd (he said there were about 20,000 stokies in that record crowd)

good to see a decent citeh fan.
Can you see how you should treat people on a public forum mate? If so, please tell any of the tools on Blue Moon who you know to stop crying and playing with themself at the same time, remember 3000 v Mansfield in the Lague Cup, and take a good hard look at just why many Stoke fans see your deluded lot as being very close to your city neighbours in being know-nowt weapons.
Ffs, some of the stuff on that Citeh forum is beyond a joke. If ever a deluded, classless football club desrved a clueless, deluded support it's these jokers.
Once agin welocome Citeh lad, and sorry for the rant. But in 35 years of watching Stoke I've not met such a graceless lot than Citeh fans.
35 years.

If only we were so good on our travels we'd be in the top four above you ;D

Fair play skyblue, we know there are still a good number of decent Citeh fans. Unfortunately, money is too often the ruination of decent things and a good number of your lot are now behaving like your near neighbours.I dread the day we start to belittle our lesser established opponents because they are poorer than us and play to their means/strengths... I know and It goes back to the fact we think we should be beating everybody outside the top 4 now. We won't do that and fair play to Stoke. They do what they're good at and it worked, we can't complain. "They do what they're good at and it worked, " How patronizing is that? Kitson scored a goal of stunning quality. Have a look at it on the replays. If that had been scored by Rooney or Torres the media would have been jizzing over it for days.

I did mention both Kitson and Tuncay's goals in a previous post and gave you praise for them. They were both good goals but at the end of the day you play to your strength of having someone with a big throw by piling people into the box for throw-ins and it worked for one of the goals. You're pitch is narrow to accommodate this so I think that means you're playing to your strengths.

Dear me, whatever I say won't be right haha. I can't win. I thought as football fans you guys would be able to understand. With the investment we've had, with the results we've had in the past and some of the players we have our mentality has to be that we should be beating every team outside the top 4. We need a winning mentality. We can't go to grounds hoping for a draw because it doesn't get you to the top. We don't sit there in silence waiting for them to win and we know we won't win every single game we play but we have to go into games believing we can win. Can you guys understand that that needs to be our mentality? It's not a dig at any team in the league it's just what we have to think to be successful. Like someone said that he only expects to lose at home to United and Chelsea, it's the same with us.

Can you explain why your support is now among the worst in the league? Is that what you want? I watched the god-awful game vs Portsmouth and the first cup game vs Stoke, the atmosphere from the home fans was zero. Who cares about your mentality, the attitude of those on your board mirrors what goes on at the ground, terrible stuff.
And by the way you are going to win sweet f.a playing the way you do with a bunch of mercenaries strolling around the pitch every game, Chelsea and Manure work their nuts off to achieve the results it will be years before you can touch them.

I don't mind people doing it in Manchester. It's just when the whole fookin country refers to the shit as "united" and man city as "city" I understand mate and it's the same for City fans when a foreign (or English for that matter!) calls Man United, Manchester. There's 2 teams in Manchester, well 1 due to the location of Old Trafford but thats a whole different argument! You must mean Salford Norwich United. Known to us as Manure!

Thanks for coming on here SB,having just browsed on bluemoon and some of the things said on there you are a breath of fresh air!I could write and pull there arguments about incidents in the games against you to pieces but only shay given will I mention as the biggest culprit of the trilogy,he time wasted from his first touch in the league game and was shameless in his attempts at having a go at the ref on many occasions, then last nights game whinging about Fullers challenge for a 50 50 ball outside his area when he claimed contact like a baby having his sweets taken away! The liner was a few yards away and did not give anything, the ref from the halfway line decides to book Fuller basically on givens theatrics,I used to like given but his whole attitude in both games was disgraceful, your lot failed to score in first 25 minutes when well on top, think it's fair to say after that period we took game by "scruff of the neck" and rest is history. To those man city fans who blame adebayor sending off for your loss may I point out that last week we held you when having Faye sent off and should of won but for the ref and last season we won when playing for over an hour down to 10,I put this down to Tony Pulis changing the side accordingly and no mean effort from our lads sadly something these overpaid/priced players at man city don't seem to have?

I certainly felt like it was a massive scalp! Rightly or wrongly, City's wealth has brought them into the top group of English teams. Look at the value of their team. Making them look ordinary felt pretty fucking good to me.
I don't expect to lose many home games, but it's still nice to beat a team supposedly out of our league.
3 other points, we were outplayed a bit first half, and when they equalised it was handy that Adebayor got sent off as they looked like going on to win it. And the sending off was a bit harsh, but evened out some of the bad decisions we've had against us.
Beating Man C, Spurs, Arsenal, Villa etc at home should feel good, and it does to me. Even better when we can go on to beat Man U and Chelsea.

Wednesday night was our Cup Final!Well people may think so if they only watched us occasionally and saw the commitment, passion, skill and willingness to run through brick walls that our fabulous players displayed. As regulars we get to see this more or less everytime our Team takes to the pitch and so it's not something out of the ordinary. It's starting to now show when speaking to or reading what opposition fans think of their own Teams just how much they crave a Team that will die for the cause and walk off a pitch after 90mins (or 120) knowing that they have given everything for the shirt.
