Baring a colossal f'up we will be playing in the Prem next season won't we?
Basically there are two spots up for relegation now ;D
Portsmouth going going gone. West Ham - sounds from the board, and manager/board relationship not great. Wovles - a bit lightweight Burnley - away form, Laws might not be up to it Hull - picking up form, but always a candidate. Bolton - Can Coyle turn it around in time?
Outside bet: Sunderland?

Two out of those four. I think Woves are in real trouble. I think they could be adrift after this run of fixtures:
Wolverhampton v Tottenham, 19:45
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saturday, 20 February 2010 Barclays Premier League Wolverhampton v Chelsea, 15:00
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saturday, 27 February 2010 Barclays Premier League Bolton v Wolverhampton, 15:00
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saturday, 6 March 2010 Barclays Premier League Wolverhampton v Man Utd, 15:00
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saturday, 13 March 2010 Barclays Premier League Burnley v Wolverhampton, 15:00
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saturday, 20 March 2010 Barclays Premier League Aston Villa v Wolverhampton, 12:45
I could see them taking no points from those matches.

Blimey that is a hard run of games. Perhaps a point from Villa - it being a Derby. Maybe points a Burnley and Bolton?

we'll be fine
in fact i think we can afford to be a bit more attacking/take a gamble in our away games from here on in and play fuller AND tuncay

We're more or less safe and agree Portsmouth have had it. Of the rest, for me it's between
Burnley - home form will be dented again when we play them plus apart from Cort, the players aren't good enough.
Bolton - after the loss of their best defender, Cahill for the rest of the season will struggle even more.
Wolves - as has been said, too lightweight and can't score enough goals (*makes mental note to remind manager to tell our defenders to watch Craddock a bit closer next time)
West Ham - until the porn magnate's amazing outburst yesterday thought that they would easily pull away. Now not so sure and could be this season's Newcastle (too good to go down team!)
I think fat Sam's experiences at Bolton will help Blackburn's cause but it will be a pretty damn close run thing with them in the long run.
Sunderland will eventually get their act together - won't they??
For me, Hull will scamble away to safety pretty easily. The orangemaster isn't quite as dim and stupid as many portray him to be on this message board.

I've been working on the annual budgets today so my head is in stats mode.
We are about 63% of the way through the season with 75% of the points we (probably) need to survive. If we maintain our average we will finish on 48 points. I don't think this is far wide of the mark. But for survival only, three wins and a draw is certainly do-able. I think we could get three wins from just April against Hull, Wolves and Bolton. But hopefully, we'll be close, if not over the 40 point mark by then.

I'd say even Wigan are in more trouble than we are of going down, no danger!

I love this part of the season with the games slowly being whittled down. Every game matters now and makes for interesting viewing. Lets hope we can get our 9 + points quickly so we can sit back and watch the fun at both ends

Barring some horrendous Hull style plunge I think we are going to be safe. We have home games v Man City, Arsenal, Villa, Spurs, Hull, Bolton and Everton. Some tough ones in there but even if we beat only Hull and Bolton we are on 36 points. And among the away games those against Burnley, West Ham and Wolves are ones where I'd reckon we will pick up points.
A big plus too is our goal difference (-4). It's worth an extra point compared with those below us. Sunderland are closest with -10 but the likes of Wigan, Hull, Burnley and Wolves are in the -20s. That's a major plus if things were to get tight.
Pulis isnt going to relax until we hit 40 points and nor will I, to be honest.

We are not safe until it is mathmatically impossible for the 18th place team, not able to catch Stokes' point's tally. Until then, we still have possibility of going down, but it would have to be a horrendous run of defeats to struggle now.

You hate Stoke you Yank idiot. You haven't had a good word to say about the club in over 3,500 posts. You might give some very faint and grudging praise after a good win but that's your limit. If you were a Stoke supporter you would be more fairweather than California (see what I did there?) Support means being there for the team through thick and thin, not screaming like a liitle girl everytime something you don't like happens.

I believe we have 14 games left. To stay up, assuming 40 points will suffice for safety, we have to win 3, draw 1 and lose 10. If anyone bets against us staying up, they must be bonkers. OS.

We are only 3 points better off than Newcastle were at this stage last season - so we most definitely do need more points. But surely ( and Shirley) we will get enough before our last two away games, please God..........................

Bolton are playing quite well under Coyle. It could be the new manager effect or it could well be that he is actually a decent manager (I think it's the latter personally). I think they will be in and around the bottom 3 but will start getting a bit more luck and stay up.
I think Burnley and Wolves are in the biggest danger. Wolves have got a really tough run of games coming up and if they don't get anything it might just be hard for them to pick themselves up from it!
Burnely, like ourselves last season, are getting nothing away from home and now are seeing there home form stumble a bit, unlike ourselves. They need to keep winning at home and not draw any. They then need to get something away from home but so far have not proved capable of doing so.

I dont think we will have needed 40 points when we get to the end of the season and look back but i want us to get to 40 points asap and certainly before we go to Chelski but there is always one club who look doomed who then go on a briliant run and win something like 3 out of the last 4 games! ???? and always one club who drop like a stone in the second half of the season and cant pick up points for love nor money (S'land?) so we're not safe yet so lets keep our foot on the gas gooaarn Stoke

We have got some hard fixtures coming up both home and away so we are not safe until it is mathematically guaranteed that the team in 18th can't catch us.

Bottom line - we aint safe until we are - Spurs were obvious winners tonight and they didnt, ditto Brum after their run. If as last season it was us in bottom 3 we would say after this weeks results, we can stand a chance - which we did and we took it
