Talking about Celtic and Rangers in the Prem being a bad idea, among other things.

If the scum that is Celtic cheered throughout a minutes silence at Stoke I think I might be tempted to take up football hooliganism. I remember watching Celtic at Rangers years ago and ALL the Celtic fans appeared to be joining in with the most vile songs I've ever heard (and I am very liberal with what I'd let go) They were singing 3-0 to the IRA 3-0 to the IRA for most of the match 'celebrating' the deaths of three innocent people in Warrington hated them ever since

Hearing all this money talk has put me in a right bad mood. To hear the middlesboro chairman say the big four should share the champions league money when his club has benefited from the premier league selfishness year after year is just sick. To be fair Coates did say he thought the parachute payments were unfair when he was in the championship but it would feel unfair to lose them now. Everyone else has just been unashamedly self interested and greedy from what I've heard.
Fckin toss.

Are you not just like them then? And you can't judge every celtic fan you see and call him scum. Just saying.

Atleast Caley are no where near the SPL, i'm starting to like 1st division football. All bar 2 defeats we've had. Piss the pair of them off, both as bad as each other.

Changing the subject slightly.
I am reflecting on how lucky we are to have Uncle Peter. I heard on Radio Stoke that Notts County have had a winding up order issued by the High Court. It looks like another club taken over by 'millionaires' who turn out to be conmen.

Do you think that the OF moving to the English league would lose them their Scottish support outside Glasgow? I was appalled to see how much of their merchandise was for sale in Inverness shops compared to the tiny amount of Caley stuff when I was last up there

5 live have now edited Martin O'Neil saying he thought it wouldn't be a bad thing(obviously he won't come out against it) and claiiming that the idea is gathering support! Every other person who spoke last night and virtually every member of the public was against it. Crap journalism, 5live gets more and more like talk sport every day.
Edit. they just put a clip of Coates speaking against the idea on the 0830 news. Still one step ahead of talk sport then who would have presenter shouting 'JOCK'S, WHAT'S THE POINT??' and the other shouting 'LET THEM IN AND LET'S MAKE HAGGIS THE NATIONAL DISH!!'

On no account should Rangers and Celtic be allowed into the PL. Their current demise may be the best thing to happen to Scottish football in years leading to a more open and competitive SPL that might actually be worth watching.
Oh and while we're at it let's fuck Cardiff and Swansea off to the League of Wales.

I'm certainly in the camp that says Celtic and Rangers should not join the Premier League or the Championship. It would set a dangerous precedent and not just in this country. Where would it stop? You'd have the likes of Ajax joining the German league, Porto and Benfica crossing the border to Spain and before you know it we would have an embryonic European league. Football is already losing its connection with its community - Wimbledon morphing into MK Dons is the prime example of this. Scottish football needs Celtic and Rangers. These two teams should have some respect for the rest of Scottish football, plough their riches into strengthening Scottish football, not jump ship when they see a pot of gold elsewhere.
As for Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham, these teams have never played in the Welsh league. There wasn't a Welsh league when Cardiff were formed, hence they chose the then Southern League. This is purely historical (as is Berwick, an English team playing in Scotland) and I have no problem with that. Celtic and Rangers could have joined the English system rather than the Scottish league when they were formed but chose not to.

There is a sort of precedent however , Gretna used to play in an English league.
