Changing the subject slightly. I am reflecting on how lucky we are to have Uncle Peter. I heard on Radio Stoke that Notts County have had a winding up order issued by the High Court. It looks like another club taken over by 'millionaires' who turn out to be conmen. Very true. I still think it'll go pear-shaped at Birmingham for some reason.

I'm certainly in the camp that says Celtic and Rangers should not join the Premier League or the Championship. It would set a dangerous precedent and not just in this country. Where would it stop? You'd have the likes of Ajax joining the German league, Porto and Benfica crossing the border to Spain and before you know it we would have an embryonic European league. Football is already losing its connection with its community - Wimbledon morphing into MK Dons is the prime example of this. Scottish football needs Celtic and Rangers. These two teams should have some respect for the rest of Scottish football, plough their riches into strengthening Scottish football, not jump ship when they see a pot of gold elsewhere. As for Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham, these teams have never played in the Welsh league. There wasn't a Welsh league when Cardiff were formed, hence they chose the then Southern League. This is purely historical (as is Berwick, an English team playing in Scotland) and I have no problem with that. Celtic and Rangers could have joined the English system rather than the Scottish league when they were formed but chose not to. There is a sort of precedent however , Gretna used to play in an English league. Yeah, a reverse precedent I guess. Makes me wonder what would happen if Berwick Rangers made an application to join the Football League / Conference...

I read in the newspaper just after Yeung took over that nobody actually knows who owns Birmingham. This Yeung bloke is only a minority shareholder in the club and there's an unknown investor from somewhere that holds a majority.

think I'm right in saying that Queens Park played in the (English) FA Cup at some point
wouldnt have a problem with the League Cuo being binned (as its dying on its arse, sadly)& perhaps being replaced by an early season British Cup
however this isnt about sport its about money & the bigot borthers (great phrase, see above post) eying the SKY millions.
some kind of completely unified British league may have merit, although you would have to re-create a national pryamid splitting divisions perhaps from as high as Championship level for it to be practical.
At the end of the day there is little appetite in England to have Scottish clubs involved.

On no account should Rangers and Celtic be allowed into the PL. Their current demise may be the best thing to happen to Scottish football in years leading to a more open and competitive SPL that might actually be worth watching. Oh and while we're at it let's fuck Cardiff and Swansea off to the League of Wales. RoryM you forgot wrexham as well

Personally I'd let them in, it would watching them getting walloped week in week out would be great ;D
Doing a Derby would become known as doing a Celtic / Rangers and when they were both in the championship the season after we should bring back the anglo italian so they get to play in Europe again ;D And the season after they'd be playing football at the same level as the SPL and have a chance of winning the johnstones paint trophy ;D
