Pure class today.
One of the best debuts I've ever seen.
Not just a superb performance but a peerless showing against the reigning champions.
He had everything we've been missing.
Cool in possession, mobile, strong in the challenge and positive when near the opposition's box.
More of the same please!

Great stuff - looks like a bargain already.

Just about to start exactly the same thread. Plenty of attention on Adam and Owen today but he stole the show and looked back to the player he was under Allardyce.

He was brilliant and takes us to the next level.
Coates played an absolute masterstroke by giving Pulis a limited budget this summer.

Him and Ryan were easily the best two players on the pitch.

Superb. Maybe I wasn't expecting much but he fit in really well. A couple of times he played some lovely cross field balls as well (When he hit them I was saying 'what's he doing'....only to look to end up looking a idiot Keep it up, good team performance all round but N'Zonzi, that was an excellent debut.

Very good debut. I seem to remember him committing a lot of stupid fouls for Blackburn, but there was none of that today. Competitive and classy!

That said I just thought those two I mentioned were on a different planet.

Yep - he was very impressive today. Looks a proper footballer.
I didn't really know what to make of his signing, but he looked a class act today.

That said I just thought those two I mentioned were on a different planet. Yes, they were, fair enough. I think the difference is that was probably how Nzonzi normally plays, whereas Whelan had one of those games where everything went right. Without wishing to take anything away from Glenn.

Mancini on BBC Manc on way home admitted he'd brought on Barry for Tevez because they were 'having a problem in midfield'. Says it all!

Superb performance, when we signed him i was chuffed because when ive seen him play he impressed me, but this lad could well be the signing of the season, hes a younger, more mobile, and more skillfull diao that we saw in his loan spell!

I've described him as a Tesco Value Patrick Vieira and not just because he's tall, black and french.
Until last season he was linked with much bigger clubs than us, he has huge potential and could easily be our most influential player in the next few years.
