Outstanding game , composure, passing ability, tracking down and harassing in defence. Looked as if he was making his 100th appearance not his first, deserves all the plaudits on offer FANTASTIC!!

Nothing being brought up here, it is just a comparison, n'zonzi is 23 and a class player, and so is crouch! My point is we have got n'zonzi on the cheap and if you combine the two fees for both players, then that should explain my first point of n'zonzi making up for the daft price we paid for a 30 year old, if you see what i mean?

I've seen a lot of debut games for Stoke players over the years and I'm struggling to think of a better one since we moved to the Brit. Uses his long legs to win balls he is not favourite to win and some great headers for a midfielder. Didn't someone come on here from Blackburn and say he was no good with his head - he must have improved 200% over the summer if that is the case. Of all the signings this summer he looks to be most at home and should fit us like a glove. Very excited at the thought of him improving as he settles in! could not agree more, brilliant debut

when pulis was interviewed after the match, he was asked directly about n'zonzi, and avoided the question by pointing out walters and crouch rather than saying that he was pleased with steven. bit weird?

A fantastic display on his debut. Considering he's not match fit and played against the Prem's best midfielder in Toure, he played superb.

He does it a lot, he really doesn't like being asked about just one player. I don't think it was anything to do with Fonzi, just likes them to be appreciated more as a team. He also referred to Charlie as Adams in that interview, the loveable dick.

PS. Can we make sure this Fonzi nickname sticks? I want to get it in the back of my away top but don't want to look more of a dick than I do already.

Pure class today. One of the best debuts I've ever seen. Not just a superb performance but a peerless showing against the reigning champions. He had everything we've been missing. Cool in possession, mobile, strong in the challenge and positive when near the opposition's box. More of the same please! I'm with you there Jamo

I disagree that Yaya Toure had a poor game against him. Yaya was their outstanding player again. But it was a great battle between them, and the greatest compliment I can give to 'Fonzi' is that on yesterday's showing, he would slot into that Man City side and not look out of place. A superb performance, and superb players bring out the best in others, which is what he did.
OS.

He reminded me of Salif Diao. That might be a strange thing to say because Diao became a bit of a joke figure in his latter years, but when we first signed him he was the perfect defensive midfielder for a club like us- physically imposing, great in the tackle and tidy on the ball. N'Zonzi will prove to be a great signing. (Did he cost us 3 or 4 million?) Are you still subscribing to your "house of sand" theory then or have you, like the rest of us, seen something worthwhile in the last 2 matches?

Looking forward to seeing a lot more and with TP throwing him straight in it looks like we will do.

he played 20-30 yards further up the pitch second half and was simply brilliant I too noticed this, hopefully he's the midfielder we've been crying out for since about 2002! Out of all the signings N zonzi was the one i paid least attention too (mainly because of Adam) but he might actually eclipse Adam! Yaya Toure was awesome by the way, best player on the park.

If Nzonzi is half the player Toure is then we will have a top talent on our books.

Pulis has made a couple of excellent purchases in N'Zonzi and Adam for modest fees, but long term he's going to have to keep doing that every summer as the older legs in the squad gradually need replacing and spending money remains limited. The next couple of years are going to be about shedding some of the big wages clogging up the squad, so I think even the 10m we spent this summer might be more than we see in the future. However, in Begovic, Shawcross, Huth, Adam and N'Zonzi we now have 5 top quality players all in their mid 20s, who should act as a consistent spine to the team while other players (the likes of Ethers, Whitehead etc) are gradually moved on. Pulis has done some good business this summer.
