What do we think the team should be against brighton, should some younger lads be given a go, or should we go full out and try to ensure progression?? I think we should play: Sorro Shotton Huth Ryan Pugh Walters Wilson Whitehead Etherington Jones Fuller Leave carew on the bench because i think jones needs some confidence and this is the perfect place to get it back, fuller hasnt started in a while and needs a game. Shotton has to show pulis he can play, and hopefully matty is back as we dont have another left winger.

Jones wouldn't even get a game in the Reserves if I was in charge.
I'd sit him down, remind him he's on 70k a week for a lovely fucking lifestyle and to stop acting like a spoilt child and to put some fucking effort in.
I'd have Walters over KJ every day of the week right now.

Didn't see the full game, how did Pugh do at LB?
With WD 'n all- Jones can fuck off. Idle wankpot.

Yeah but walters would be on the right. People love to moan about kj but ric can be just as lazy just as often, that's what annoys me, i dont want to defend jones but at birmingham he certainly wasn't lazy. Anyone who actually thinks he was is looking at it in a complete bias way.

To be honest the worst thing that could happen (for our season's ambitions) against Brighton is a replay. I thnk we should play as strong a side as possible - at a minimum we should have all our best players on the pitch or on the bench. If Pulis didn't think that Liverpool was a winnable game he surely won't think Arsenal is. And if the most at stake at Arsenal is one point we should go all out for a cup win.

I thought pugh was good at lb, larsson is a fast winger but pugh didnt seem too worried by it, and to be honest after a bit of match rust in the first 5 mins, i was very happy that he was there.

Nice one. I've always rated Pugh, regardless of his stature, he stands up well in matches.
I reckon Collins will be in for the Brighton match though if Pugh is going to feature more in the League.

I hope pugh does feature more in the league, he is the closest thing we have to a proper full back that we have at the moment.

No, he's on 30k a week, sunderland pay about 20k to match what he was on there. We do have a wage structure at stoke, which i am very happy for, or, we'd be like west ham. I think carew is highest paid on 52k, and on his current form for stoke he deserves be best paid player.

I just took a guess.
Then again, now you have confirmed its only 50k a week he picks up, I can understand his lazyness.
I wouldn't get out of bed for that much, how does he survive on that?
Earning in a week what most don't earn in a year?
It's a hard fucking life.

Personally I'd play Shotton and save Wilko for the league then play Walters and Carew up front with Pugh in the midfield where I feel he's is best. Then put just play the one of our class wingers either Pennant/Etherington from the start.
I'd then keep Fuller, Delap and Etherington/Pennant on the bench ready to turn the game in the 60th if needed.
I really think it's time to use Delap as a super sub when things aren't going to plan so we can resort to the long throws. This would include the prem games as well.

WD He deserves every bit of criticism he got for his performance against Sunderland the other week, but he put in a good shift at Birmingham, I don't know how anyone watching the game could say any different.

Im not saying he isnt lazy. In my view 10k a week is far too much for any professional footballer, A wage cap should have been introduced a long long time ago, in that way a team could decide if the player is worth spending time on, jones wouldnt have cost us 8 mil, more like 4 and if it didnt work out better players would be available to us. But- what can you do, like i said, fullers a lazy git as well, and i bet he receives 30k a week from stoke.

Got to be the first choice XI.
If we win, we're 90 minutes from a Wembley semi.

Anyone who actually thinks he was is looking at it in a complete bias way. Yes he was - he did absolutely fuck all yet again. His impact was minimal, especially when you compare it to Carew's. Ric tends to have some sort of impact. He always wants the ball as well, whereas Jones seems to shirk involvement sometimes.

Hey all, Firstly, if there has been any crass or rude comments made from the Albion drawing you guys in the cup, well, there are always some idiots i guess. Tough draw for us as you have a big physical side compared to us(and can play a bit too, although some people think you are just a hoof it team for some reason) and i guess neither of us want a draw either(Unlikely). How do you guys think you will line up in terms of first teamers and fringe players? I would think that long throw would be good to keep as a form of attack or is it likely you will put out near enough a full squad? Depending how we line up, we may play 3 up front or with Noone and Bennett on the flanks. We never seem to win at your place so i can see a 0-3 this weekend ;D Or maybe not!

We are just a hoof team at the moment mate.
We'll probably have Noone one the flanks 'n all.
I think we'll play as many of our subs and reserve players as possible.

Have you got any players to watch? Haven't you bought a good winger from Plymouth?
I'd hope we'd play our top XI this deep into the competition.
We are playing poorly at the moment. If Etherington is unfit and he still doesn't play Fuller, I wouldn't be particularly confident. Brighton sound like the type of lower league 'footballing' team who could do us, to be honest.
But with Ethers and Fuller on, I'd be very confident

Oh!! Well you seem to have some players with plenty of individual talent and your set pieces still seem to cause havoc.
Brighton are very much a keep possession team under Poyet so it would be interesting if we could at least make a game of it but of course we are 2 divisions below so not expecting much.
If Huth plays please tell him to be gentle with Little Craig Noone if he plays, although very skillful he has legs of an 11 year old. LOL

I think we'll win because we're at home. If we were away then we'd probably lose.
Having said that, a friend of mine who supports Southampton and watches a lot more L1 football than me described B&HA as a well drilled, good at set peices, physical hoof the ball type team with little technical ability who just outmuscle the opposition - so we could turn out to be the same as you, just a little stronger physically.

Oh yes and Noone is the Gu from Plymouth and Bennett is the guy we turned down £1 million for from Norwich. so those two can be threats as well as Murray and Wood(our big lad up front) Calderon, the spanish guy at right back gets forward alot and overlaps so he could be a hidden danger as for a right back he can score

Foster:
I would take that as tongue in cheek maybe(not sure where he got that from) as we are known for being quite the opposite of hoof it. Alot of fans from the opposition are getting quite annoyed that we pass it to each other at the back so much.
