Try reading the Race Relations Act 1976. The Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994. This offence refers to: deliberately provoking hatred of a racial group distributing racist material to the public making inflammatory public speeches creating racist websites on the Internet inciting inflammatory rumours about an individual or an ethnic group, for the purpose of spreading racial discontent. correct and Saha didn't hear it so nothing to worry about First things first its Zaha not Saha he retired last year. Secondly if you went out tonight in Hanley and spouted racist abuse and directed it towards someone and someone reported it you could be arrested the law states that ANY member of the public can be offended by racist abuse and the person the abuse is aimed at does not have to report the offence to the police for you to be arrested

good result for the u18's Where are we now in the league and how many games are left? Anyone know why we don't stream any of our u18's and u21's games on YouTube or whether we are planning on doing it next season? I've seen a couple of teams do it namely derby and i'm sure it wouldn't cost much for a bloke to be stood with a camera at the side of the pitch and surely they do it anyways so they can run through the match afterwards

has anyone sent a link to this article to the club on twitter to see what they make of the story as it would be lovely to see the club take a hardline stance on this matter and sue Mr Kitson

Seems like this thread needs a bit of balance and someone to defend Jon Walters, so here goes. I do find it bizarre (if no longer surprising) that the current message Board scapegoat should even get blamed for Saturday's defeat. I think it's very interesting that despite predictions that under a new manager he would be on his way - that (unlike Shotton, Kightly, Cuvellier etc) he's not only still here, but has so far played every minute of every league game, as he did under the last manager. Is it not just possible that the professionals sometimes know more about the game than some of us do ? Whatever your views about Tony Pulis' management style or style of football, there is simply no way that a player who is allegedly a Championship player at best ("at best", even)and who can't run, tackle, mark or score would play nearly 100 consecutive games in a mid-table team in one of the strongest leagues in the world. It just wouldn't happen. It implies that Tony Pulis ( and perhaps now Mark Hughes) is an idiot who knows nothing about the game at this level, which is self-evidently untrue. Neither do I think it's true that Walters wouldn't get into any other PL team. As I go about my business with the FSF and on the FA Council, I get into conversations with various people. I can recall 3 about Jon Walters. One was with a director of another PL club who told me that their head coach ( who has now gone on to higher things) produced lists of possible targets for their Board. Jon Walters was always on it and they were disappointed when he signed for Stoke. Another was with one of his former managers who described Walters as a manager's dream - because he has both the willingness and the intelligence to do any job asked of him. Some players, he said, have the willingness but aren't bright enough to understand what's required. Others may be unwilling to do a job which they don't want to do, and don't put the effort in. Walters is a player who will always put the team's need before himself. The 3rd was with one of his former directors who talked of his strength of character in overcoming setbacks both in his private life and on the field. I don't want to sound like daveviews mysteriously quoting unnamed people. I doubt whether any of those people would regard their views as secret but you can't just go around quoting private conversations on a message board. No doubt others in football may have different views but I quote them just to restore the balance a little bit. I think there are, and always have been, players who are appreciated more by the professional ooaches than many fans. I think that, in our recent past, Mama Sidibie and Richard Cresswell, to name just two, came into the same category. Like the cartoon character, I like Jon Walters, and I'm glad he's still in the team. Before each game we sit in the pub and debate which team we think the manager should pick, and predict which one he will pick. It's part of the fun of being a fan and the matchday experience. The team actually picked is of course often different from both of them. But when the manager picks players who I would never pick, which has of course happened hundreds of times in my half a century of watching Stoke, I don't usually regard it a reason for ridiculing or laying into the manager, or the player, but rather I tend to ask "I wonder why he has done that" and "what is it I'm not seeing ?" - because I think, in most cases, it is ludicrously arrogant to assume that I know better than the manager who works with the players all week, has intelligence about the opponents, has the professional qualifications and experience to do the job etc. Of course there have been a small number of managers over those years when I've genuinely speculated that even I could do a better job ( we've had some, haven't we !!) but I certainly wouldn't include either Tony Pulis or Mark Hughes in that category, and if they think Walters is worth a regular start, maybe, just maybe, they do know a bit better than some of the fans. Could we do better than Jon Walters ? Of course we could. We are mid/lower half PL side which could be improved in probably every position except goalkeeper. It may well be that as the team develops, Walters doesn't keep his regular place in the side, and if that's because we have got better players, that's obviously fine. But there's a world of difference between saying that and totally rubbishing the bloke's ability, which I think says more about the posters than it does about the player or the coaches who put him in the team Here endeth the defence case for Super John ! What a fantastic post Walters deserves a lot more respect than he gets from stoke fans

Yup i thought it may be a fake account at first but there seems to be personal photos of him on it. It would be typical stoke if they had taken him on the plane with them when he wasn't a stoke player and continued talks on the plane and got him to sign the contract part way across the Atlantic

My guess is it will be to do with away tickets and possibly could be that it will be a set price for away fans at £25 a ticket for each game or that the club are offering free away travel all season There was mention of the club trying to get all premiership clubs to agree to give free away travel or set a set price of £25 for every away matchwhen the premier league met last season.
I hope im right but im probably a million miles off what the announcement will be

wasn't cameron a late call up? or have I imagined that! Shea was a late call up, God knows where Geoffrey is! Yeah - Correct you are on Cameron, Bayern. He's due back in next week on the return from France, isn't he? We still do look a bit/very weak, don't we? I aren't sure tbh Grapey! And indeed we do, it starts going pear shaped when You get past N'Zonzi on that list of Yours. Oh if You ignore the right wingers! Cameron was given this week off by sparky according to Gary Mellor on 6 towns radio it was only agreed last week but was supposedly done because hed been playing none stop since jan '12

Damn, all this Marc Wilson stuff again. He's the best midfielder at our club someone posted a few days ago. I say Jamie Ness is the best central midfielder at the club, sod that, Cuvelier is the best central midfielder at the club, it's true because i've made it a statement. I may be the only person on here, or indeed who is a Stoke supporter who would rather we actually sold Wilson because i really don't rate him as a footballer. I do apologise for this because people may shoot me down but fuck it, he's got 1 trick (we all know what that is) which he can only pull off when he's on the left side of the pitch really. Other than that i cannot see anything he offers. Regardless of speculating what he'd be like in the centre of midfield, which is all it is, speculation, when he's played what over 80 games for us as a professional footballer on a football pitch his positioning is poor, his distribution is general awful bordering upon woeful, he's slow and i just don't see how people can get excited by the thought of him being in our midfield. swanseastokie (i think that's his username, the one who talks bollocks for fun) says Wilson will make a lot of people look like mugs this coming season, well a) i hope i look like one as i certainly have got a handle but b) in actual fact i'd rather Wilson doesn't play for us again. I get what your saying and I totally agree about him looking like a one trick pony but you have to remember he has played over 80 games for us as a professional footballer under tony pulis he has played 75-79 of those games in a position that when he signed he didnt even know how to play and wasnt brought in to play that position. All i would say is give him a chance under Hughes infact i'd say to give every player a chance under hughes hes afterall a completed different person to our previous manager and may actualy play players in there correct postions instead. He's never been given chance to play consistantly in his natural position

MoMo...If I was in Pennant's position and felt that the manager was causing me problems no matter what I did, then, given the opportunity he has had, I would make it clear to anyone that would listen that whatever the "whys" and "wherefores" of the situation, that it wasn't all of my own making. I agree with your last comments that he needs to get a grip and start making the most of his talents. Quitting Twitter would be a good start. He just needs to knuckle down and prove his worth now. If he does that, then he will go even further to prove that Pulis was a complete and utter dick for ostracising him the way he did. Now is the time for the talking to stop and for his football to do his talking for him. He quit twitter ages ago its only his missus who is on it

The problem this year is that Football League clubs kick off 2 weeks before us on August 3rd, so that cuts our options down especially for later friendlies BM When do other european leagues start again? As i can see us doing what we did at start of this season and going to somewhere like germany or austria to play 1 or to games just before the season. Also, i suppose championship teams and league 1 and 2 would be up for playing games when there season has started. Dependant on how much prem teams are prepared to pay or how much of the gate receipts they would be able to keep.

Eve looks a cracking keeper and looks like he could have a future in the game. Ive never seen bachmann play in goal but ive read on here that people see him as the better prospect. Were going to have an embarassment of riches in the goalkeeping department in a few yrs time at this rate. Shame the club couldnt tempt banksy into being a mentor for the academy players
