I think we'll just about survive but it will be a nervous run in no doubt - if we do go then no-one will be truly surprised and we couldn't really argue that we didn't deserve it in the face of several years of gross mismanagement and wanton negligence from the very top since relegation (and a year or two prior actually.....) - it would be a disaster for the club and the City as we'd probably end up in with Vale, Shrewsbury, Burton Albion and possibly even Crewe & Stockport County - along with a few "sleeping giants" Wigan, Weds, Bolton, Blackpool, Barnsley - nightmare stuff indeed.......or maybe it would be a fantastic nostalgic blast and we could all relive the nineties and noughties.....I think not.....

End of an era - watched a couple of episodes on Gold only last night - find it somewhat depressing that youngsters aren't generally aware of the context of Dad's Army and that over 1200 Home Guard were killed in the defence of the country during it's darkest hours........

The sad thing for me that today has highlighted is Leicester City are exactly what we should have been when the 2018/19 season began having just been relegated. & to see the top 3 this evening of Leicester, Southampton & Leeds shows all three relegated clubs are all there or there abouts in the mix to be in the promotion shake up at the first attempt. Guessing one of these clubs will be disappointed & have to contend with a Play Off Place. Yet we haven't managed a top half finish since we re-entered the Championship, nevermind the happiness even a play off place would have given us! Today for me is the serious wake up call that we are preparing for a relegation battle, no two ways about that. I can't see where our next points are coming from nevermind next win! A glance of the league table is also scary right now, position aside our goal difference is now shockingly bad. -14 is equal to QPR & Huddersfield. Now if it comes down to that 3rd bottom finish being scrapped ouver come May then goal difference could well come into play! 🙄😬 A good goal difference is as good as an extra point! I'd honestly rather be challenging Top 6 in League One, than fuck-arsing around struggling to make 15th every season in the Championship. I lost interest in being a nothing club, in a shit league, 3 seasons ago. no no no - I know what you mean fellah but tier 3 would be most likely more of the same and there's nothing about us being a so-called bigger fish that would guarantee us being top 6 by any sort of default - it just doesn't happen like that. It's true we're in a mini league of 8 now from QPR up to Plymouth one of whom will be relegated with Weds and Rotherham - it's looking like it will be a close call but I think we *should* have enough to scrape survival providing there's no club-level implosion, player revolts or other off-the-field strife - we just have to hope.

Nuno was the answer but we hadn't got the balls for it.... Behave. The only way Nuno was the answer is if the question was “who have Stoke not got a chance in hell if hiring?” Not at the time he was being touted I agree but the guy has been out of work for a while and we could have made a move before the end of.last season but no - we had to.let the stupid twat Neil wreck the club even.more.... It's a shit show to end all.shit shows

Having said the clueless and miserable Neil we should have gone for a continental manager who could bring a breath of fresh air and imposed his personality and ideas on the club. But no the board feel more cosy appointing another nobody who will not have the balls to challenge the status quo. A little man like John Coates cannot accept the idea of appointing a manager with a strong personality who would just tell him to stay away. At the end of the day this is the root of the problem. We had the chance to go for someone like Hassenhuthl but no, let’s just go for another little man from a little club who would be just so grateful for having joined a bigger club. It’s so predictable and pathetic Spot on

Hmm. I didn't any pics this time. But it seems we are worse than I thought. It seems every manager we get start on an ok level, get us hard to beat at least, but then after a while we start to lose. Why is that? ⚽ Cos we keep hiring the same sort of low-league and/or unproven managers who cannot garner respect or get a tune from the entitled lazy prima donnas players we keep buying

Sadly I think you are right. FFS. We are a castle of sadness. Unfortunately Tony Mowbry was the answer Nuno was the answer but we hadn't got the balls for it....

Vidigal really has no ability to handle the physical aspect of the game. Typical modern entitled inflated ego tosser - and he's not alone

Yea its terrible management. I don't blame SS either he's only had a short window he chose wrong going for only a fwd. If he doesn't address this shit defense again this summer he'll follow the rest. I’m starting to think he’s not the man for the job. Not specifically because of today. He was never the man for the job - this isn't his fault - just another shit decision from the top .....

Not really to do with today’s game, but I am utterly fed up of being shit at home. It’s been the best part of a decade. Was pondering going today - looks like a wise decision not to and save the 66 quid plus ale and uber fares - I take no pleasure in making this statement

We’re not even trying to make a tackle. It’s frustrating when we get near a player then stand off enough to let them pass it around us. Put a foot in at least. At least under Pulis, we lacked quality, but we supported that with effort. I’m not saying we need a Pulis era again, but we’ve nothing at the moment. I think we definitely need SS to go the full Pulis for precisely the reasons you give...

The blame for this sits squarely with the owners for perpetuating the disasterous Neil reign beyond the end of last season and compounded the dire situation further through their sponsorship of a completely mental close-season scatter-gun tranfer splurge on largely entitled, self-important, weak-minded, no-mark journeymen players with mediocre talent and generally poor attitudes - just fucking stark staring raving mad.......SS needs to go the full Pulis with discipline and fitness and instil a run-through-a-wall attitude and engender some real team-spirit and pride in their club - how many of these fuckers are getting out into the community, schools, hospitals, clubs......none as far as I can see

I like this guy but his appointment showed the lack of ambition and small time mentality of the club - I get the impression that a lot of entitled, prima donna players these days don’t react well to ex-player managers especially those that are not much older than them and haven’t won anything - there are exceptions of course but the attitude and psychology around the game has changed massively in the last decade or so and not for the better - the levels of so-called professional and personal “respect” expected by default from these mediocre players is making some teams almost unmanageable as they think they know best ultimately- it’s fucked up…..

Not sure we'd ever need 8k more seats even in the Prem ! I'll give you that it looks ok from a distance (coming up SM way from Hem Heath and from the railway below) but once up close and inside, we quickly realise that the stadium was typical of its 90s style - done on the cheap with no real thought of logistics, aesthetic or general facilities - it's been improved a bit but it's still a bastard to get to, bloody freezing and the concourses primitive and inhospitable.....

It’s starting to feel like another MoN situation where the manager has got to jettison a load of underperforming and/or substandard players and conduct major surgery on the squad - naively I thought he might be able to get a tune out of this lot (and he may still) but seems we have some serious weak links - I’ve no doubt we are much more positive and having a go for the most part but increasingly I see a lack of basic skill and intelligence - we won’t get relegated for sure but mid table is probably best we can achieve for now…….all a bit deflating
