Firstly, this is not designed to be a bring back Pulis argument. That's a different debate all together. Love him or hate him however, even though like all managers he made some transfer errors he managed to get decent players in even when we hadn't got a pot to piss in. I look at our forward line now and they are useless. And I look at our transfer budget and I can't think how we can fix it. But TP brought in Noel-Williams and Akinbiyi both as free transfers and made them a partnership to be reckoned with. He didn't say "we're fucked" he said who can I sign for for free that will fit my tactics. Neither of them were world beaters but I always felt we were in with a chance of winning with them as a forward line. Higginbotham 225k (an elite CB at this level) clint Hill (free?), Griffin 300k, taggart etc etc etc. Yet our recent managers and transfer team have made so many errors in this department. The main goals that promoted us were fuller, Lawrence and Cresswell. Fuller cost 500k, Lawrence and Cresswell what do we reckon about the same? Yet don't get me started on what we spunked on Afobe, Ince, vokes, Brown and then all the loans as well. How did he do it so often? Yes players were cheaper then but a lot of his signings were bargains even back then. And his loans were more impactive. Hendrie, Berger, Diao, Crossley, Nash, Shawcross initially etc etc. Is it down to managers picking their own players back then rather than scouts and DOF picking the players for them? Was he just a better manager than anyone we have had since we came back down? Why can't our recent managers have a similar success rate? Some good points there. I think partly the problem has been that the club are seen as an easy touch because of the wealth of the owners. We always seem to have the upper hand in the bargain basement department and this is not helping our cause. Finding another Fuller is not going to happen. At least the academy is bringing young talent to the fore which can only be a good sign for the future.

Bearing in mind he's running around in Stoke training kit on his profile I'd say there's a good chance. Ok don’t shoot the messenger, I am bloody old you know

They started well, with a bit more pace, but as the half has progressed we have slid back to our old routine of pass back, pass sideways. This Wigan team are there for the taking.

Lets hope they’ve already have another manager lined up and we can kick this season off with an unbeaten run of 20 games and a FA cup final. I should have taken my medication.

I was astonished to hear him say about a top 2 finish is out of his remit That comment alone after 5 games should be enough to seal his fate. The problem goes much deeper than MON Nathan Jones has done ok again at Luton with little or no funding, although his obsession with his formation was puzzling especially with the players he had at the time. Rowett also continues to be competitive with a small budget. MON has changed and swapped formations over the last 3 seasons and we should have had a clear plan at the start of the season, including the friendlies. The friendlies were the 1st indication that something was not right with this system and another disaster in the Carabou cup should have set off alarm bells. Its plain to see and hear that the fans are not happy with this system and with his negativity. We cannot put more than 2 results together and as the attendance drops maybe just maybe the owners will see that MON is not capable of steering this team into the prem. Hope Im proved wrong.

We’re not a team that’s gonna finish in the top 2…… wow That should be the ambition of every team HE HAS TO GO I was amazed he said that we have no chance of finishing in the top 2 Great attitude, no wonder this team is going nowhere

Its turning out to be another groudhog day start to the season. Indifferent starts seem to be the norm. A poor pre season, its win, lose, lose, draw, win type of season I’m affraid, and nothing will change. You don’t need a crystal ball to see that we are not going anywhere. Ok the season has only just started and there were some signs of hope against a resilient Blackpool team, but all in all its same old stuff. I commend loyalty shown by the owners by sticking with MON but it needs a bold approach and some more to get this team to a standard where they are competing week in and week out showing a level of consistency that has been missing for several seasons. Supporters, especially the away ones deserve more.

He needs to change things and not wait until we are 3 goals down. I predict a Stoke win.
