In the 53 years of following Stoke I cant remember being as excited for the start of a season to begin. Ok when we were promoted I was excited but also filled with trepidation at the thought of us managing to stay in the premiership. It was never going to be easy but not only have we achieved this but we now are an established and financially able to compete for players who at one time would have been out of our reach. The last 3 weeks have shown the intent to push on and although we have had knock backs the future looks solid. We have of course moved on since Tone and we should not forget that he guided us to where we now have the media having good things to say about us. Peter Coates is the reason that we have now become noticed and without the success of Bet 365 this wouldnt have ocurred Our manager has been reborn and although his appointment was hailed by some as the end for our club. He and his backroom staff have proved the doubters wrong. For those who never had the priveledge to watch him play. They should watch on you tube to see what a beast of a forward he was. Look at his playing career and you will start to see why he knows players inside out. Hes been there got the T shirts and understands what makes a player tick. Mourinio said that Arnie was unmanageable but Hughes has nurtured him to a point where his game and his mentality is in sync. This is what Wiki throws up on him
During his playing career he was most noted for two spells at Manchester United, but he also played for Barcelona and Bayern Munich, as well as the English clubs Chelsea, Southampton, Everton and finally Blackburn Rovers. He also made 72 appearances and scored 16 goals for Wales. He retired from playing in 2002.
He won a host of medals during his playing career, including two Premier League title medals, four FA Cups, three League Cups and two European Cup Winners' Cups. He also collected an FA Cup runners-up medal and a League Cup runners-up medal. Hughes was the first player to win the PFA Players' Player of the Year award twice, in 1989 and 1991.

I think he wiuld have signed for Athleticoby now so its more than likely they are struggling for a solution to the deal I dont think Seville will sign him either The owner of Seville said a couple of days ago that they wouldnt wait for him to decide, so its looking likely his only option is to stay where he is Im still clinging to the hope that we get him but Shaq is a better option If we end up with neither of them dont be surprised

Yes I do although its looking unlikely. Still no need coming out of Athletico and I think its going to be a return to his club and his hands and feet tied to them. Hes running out of options due to the 3rd party agreement and its a shame because probably the player is being hawked about and his destiny is not in his own hands I am still concerned that the Shaquiri deal will hit a stumbling block When youre a Stokie be prepared to expect the unexpected Perhaps tomorrow it will become clearer or we will have been linked with Peppa Pig

I tend to agree If theres no news tomorrow from Athletico I think theres no desl to be agreed due to the .3rd party Hes running out of options and Dnipro looks to be favourite Athletico have signed 2 players over the last couple of days and they are probably going to walk away if its not sorted soon

If youre an investor and you want to make good money with only a small risk then I can understand it from an investors point. Money doing naff all in the bank and the chance of a bumper pay off in a relative short period of time The 40% mentioned is a tidy amount especially if Kono gets to a top European club

So you can see why Scholes and co are up against as TPO is not allowed here and The football authorities are trying to ban it You may remember that Tevez was also the subject of TPO and I think it was Shreffield Utd who took it to court with West Ham especially when he scored the winner

Liverpool couldnt sort it out when he was rumoured to be going there and I guess TPO third party ownership is the stumbling block and as you rightly pointed out maybe Athletico cant reach an agreement either Heres a piece that explains it company/individual will give a club or player money in return for owning a percentage of a player’s future transfer fee or ‘economic rights.’ The footballer is registered to play for a club, but said club is not entitled to 100 per cent of any fee should the player be sold.
Why do clubs agree to such arrangements for its players? TPO is common in South America, namely Brazil and Argentina where 90 per cent of players’ economic rights in the Brazilian top flight are partly owned by third party investors. Such countries do not have as much money as European clubs and thus develop a system whereby they can maximise the value for their best talent.
Brazilian superstar Neymar was initially declared to have cost Barcelona £47.3m when he moved from Santos in 2013, but that was later revealed to be £71.5m. The fallout from the deal led to the resignation of the club's president Sandro Rosell and a payment of €13.5 by Barcelona to Spanish authorities in response to tax fraud charges. Only €17.1m made its way to Santos, while €40m went to N&N, a company owned by Neymar's parents.

Ive been trolling through the Spanish papers and other media and theres nothing re Kono Strange especially as here in Spain the media are normally all over it There are several reasons 1 its bollocks and hes not going to Athletico 2 The 3rd party is creating problems again a la Seville 3. Hes re thinking about another club There are other possibilities but maybe our team have pulled a good un by publicly going for Shaq This may just flush him out The truth is out there

My apologies if this has been posted
According to Sky Italia, Stoke have reached an agreement for Xherdan Shaqiri with Inter Milan.
Yes, that's the same Xherdan Shaqiri who spurned a move to Liverpool to move to the San Siro.

It will be interesting to see how he progreses at Athletico Lets hope hes shite Hopefully the saga will be explained to us mortals at a later date by the club Im not arsed either way about him although he has ruffled a few feathers by the sound of it He will be kissing the badge and saying that it was always his dream to play for Athletico, Stoke, Liverpool, Seville etc etc
