The club statement used the bare minimum of words to cover the sacking, suggesting that relations had completely broken down and we were just happy that the whole saga had come to an end. Never to be mentioned again. Does that mean we can forget that he ever managed our club? đ

Let it be known now, that when everyone else has written him off and when we're doing well in a few months time, the crowd are chanting 'Martin O'Neill's barmy army' and the good times are back at Stoke that I wanted him here and (barely) nobody else. I wouldnât be devastated (like some on here) if it was MON but Iâd have to give his post match interviews a miss. Theyâre as dull as dishwater đ

I don't understand Jones. All of the problems that Rowett had, but with a smattering of attacking football. Like it or not, there appears to be a contingent of our squad who couldn't give a stuff what a manager from the lower leagues wants them to do. To be fair Rowett also had a smattering of attacking flair before he came to us as well with his Derby team scoring 70+ goals last season. Jones would be Rowett MK2 probably.

Strange how different fans see things isnât it. At the moment Iâm the polar opposite in that I feel we need an experienced man in charge, one whoâll command respect and kick a few arses in the changing room. Can see Jones as Rowett Mk 2 as others have said.

Strangely excited if we do go for Jones, big risk but potentially huge reward Itâll be a massive risk, as none of the players in our dresssing room will probably have heard of him (except maybe Joe Allen đ)

He's very Welsh, isn't it? Speaks well. So did Rowett (at first)

Surely we wonât do what we did with Hughes and sack a manager before having already talked to potential replacements? Would we? We have havenât we? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

he does have a promotion & Luton are top 3 can't imagine they have top 3 budget in that league? So what. Will any of the players have heard of him? Will he come in with the reputation, strength of personality and overwhelming support of all and sundry that would enable him to get rid of whoever he wants whenever he wants to do it? If the answer is no, he isn't the manager we need. Agree 100%. We need a big(ish) name with a bit of clout to sort out our dressing room, not an up and coming manager who wonât have the respect or knowledge. GOD I HOPE ITâS MOYES đł

well he has done a great job there & apparently they play attacking football however I don't think right now is the time for an up & coming manager with no experience at this level possibly right man but not the right time He could just be another Rowett. We need experience at the moment. A Moyes or Allardyce would hopefully give the players the kick up the arse they deserve and have the players respect. I really donât think Rowett was a big enough appointment for the experienced dressing room we have/had.

I'm amazed so many people thought he'd consider us. Canât understand why any manager on the scrap heap wouldnât consider us to be honest. Theyâre out of a job and we all know the longer that carries on for the less chance theyâll ever have of managing again. Allardyce included.

You would hope theyâve been sounding out a new manager for a week or so by now, so they shouldnât have to wait too long to sack him. Tonight or tomorrow will do!

I'd still chuck a ton of money at Bielsa. Seriously? The blokes over half way to the PL already. What in the world would you think would make him come here? If the club offered him ÂŁ10m heâd be stupid to say yes.

Jokanovic! No doubt the pizza boys (if they even sack Rowett) will go for one of the dinosaurs mentioned instead. *see my post above đ

Itâll be either Moyes, Allardyce or O'Neill. Coates will go all in for an old head with experience.

Moyes didn't want the Stoke job when it was a much more attractive job than it is now. Whats changed? Dull as dishwater to boot. Canât be any more dull than Rowett surely Do you fink?

Its not all rowetts fault...players have to take alot of responsibility With the players hes got every manager would do the same....although i wanted him yesterday I think coates will give him until the shrewsbury game Unfortunately you canât sack the players so you move on to the bloke who âmanagesâ them (badly in this case)

Yes but as I see us at the moment Afobe isnât causing the oppositions centre halves any problems at all. For a big target man heâs useless. Diouf would at least make a nuisance of himself and have some presence, which Afobe doesnât seem to have. Dioufs work rate and presence would make space and time for others to hopefully exploit. Afobe seems to possess neither of those attributes, but never mind weâve only got to splash out ÂŁ12m on him soon! come on mate he is shit .defenders in this league would have a field day with him ,and again its not the strikers that are at fault its the supply they are not getting that is the issue . Static defense protected by a deep midfield leave's no forward play for the strikers ,we need sort the defense first to free up the midfield ,we where scoring for fun at the start but leaking goals , we know we can score once we sort the defense . Agree regarding the defence, but Rowett could sort it in a heartbeat by bringing back Bauer, playing Pieters (if he was on the bench yesterday why wasnât he starting?) or Edwards and playing Bruno and Williams. He wonât though because heâs a stubborn so and so. So back to my original point in that with the team as it is it wouldnât do any harm trying Diouf up front on his own.

Tom Ince slapped his thighs and waved his arms at the bench the moment the penalty was saved. No desire to get anywhere near the re-bound. Shocking behaviour. He also whinged at Villa when Afobe picked the ball up for the penalty, and when his number was held up to be subbed off. He definitely thinks he's something special, but rarely shows it. Wish heâd taken the penalty yesterday though.

Well it appears he is for the time being. He'll pull a couple of wins out of the bag, then the window will be shut and they'll re-evaluate it over the summer depending on where we are. Yes but didnât Coates say that anything less then the play offs will be a failure. Weâre not going to make the play offs with this clown in charge. The fans can see it, the media can see it. Seems the only ones who canât, run the club! SACK HIM NOW!

Rowett pursues his 20 goal a season man that has recently been on the bench more than minutes on the pitch! I think nick Hancock should do a football nightmares and just base it on our beloved stoke city. Harry Kane wouldnât score 20 goals a season in this team!

The âpizza boysâ didnât sign him, he was Rowettâs man I believe Yes but they sorted out the price and agreement with Wolves and Afobeâs contract which will no doubt be a 4 year deal or something stupid, so it is the Pizza Boys fault. đ

Hopefully this time we have everything agreed with a new manager before we sack Rowett. People are talking about a rush to get things done but realistically is there one? We're not getting relegated and we won't be getting promoted this season whether it's Rowett or any other manager. Be sensible, make the right appointment. If the club think we wonât get relegated and we wonât get promoted then they wonât sack Rowett. Simple as unfortunately.

He's got to go 442 hasn't he or 4231. Yesterday was crying out for a player hovering 10 yards out from the 'D' to switch the play and an extra body in that area. In a 4231 I'd even go as far as to play woods there as a number 10 to link play if he's insistent that bojan is finished. Clucas & Allen holding with woods behind Berahino or afobe. Someone central like woods in a number 10 area will pick passes & keep the pressure on All reasonable ideas but youâre wasting your time as the Clueless One wonât change.

Oh my god!! We have become that bad that we have people thinking Diouf is the answer It was down to descions like this that got us relegated, Diouf should be no where near the first team not even a match day ball boy sitting near the dugouts To be fair on his performances so far neither should the bloke weâre about to splash ÂŁ12m on! đ

Itâs inevitable nothing will change till itâs too late. The board are clearly happy with whatâs happening. What a joke. The board aren't "clearly happy". That's a silly statement to make. It would be nice if the âboardâ actually made a statement once in a while!

Go 5-3-2 again? Shawcross, BMI and Williams providing a wall at the back. Diouf and Pieters bombing on. Allen, Etebo and Clucas bossing it in midfield. Berahino and Afobe poaching a few goals. Could it be any worse?! Itâs an idea but sadly the Clueless Ones coaching manual only has 433 in it. Rumour has it that when he first arrived it was a particularly windy day on his first training session and half the pages on his clipboard blew away and were never found again. Supposedly they were all the other formations he was planning to try đ
