Who's not normally a football fan, in fact the last game he went to was at the Vic! Anyway, he asked me the other day if he could go with me and I was well surprised and equally chuffed, so I told him "of course you can"... And he loved every minute of it!
He won't stop raving about the goal and Mama's bicycle kick...
A few comments of his...
"I like how they don't mess around on the ball and just get it up as quickly as possible..."
"They're a tall set of lads, aren't they?"
"That lad with the blonde hair (LL) certainly knows his stuff!"
He said he definitely wants to go again when I'm next back in Stoke, so there you go! A 45 year old convert for the ranks! ;D

Honestly, I'm so happy. I feel dead proud, almost like it's the other way round and I'm his dad! I know he's a bit of a glory hunter, but it just came completely out of the blue, I've never seen him watch a football match in my life! He did have one complaint though... "They really should fill those corners in."

I was sat next to a group of men, who clearly weren't avid Stokies, but knew a little about our team and more about football in general. All of them agreed that, if you hear anyone saying Stoke don't play football, they are mad! They also all agreed that Lawrence was the man of the match and looked class. Special praise from this group for Delap, and his throw in!

Ah yeah, he found the cover of the Oatie quite funny after actually seeing one of those throw ins. They never get less amazing!

;D I wish! He even bought me a beer which I was pretty happy about to be fair. I just hope he doesn't ask to come up Hanley with me tonight...

I took my daughter and her friends as part of her 10th birthday. She's a Stokie ST holder but for the others it was their first game. I had to sit in the JS Stand to guarantee getting five seats together, and swap my ST's. The trainee blonde asked 10 minutes into the second half why Stoke were attacking their own goal....

Hahaha! ;D
It was also the first time I'd sat so low down as well (row bastarding two), I usually sit in the corner at the back and I have to say it was an absolutely awful view.

Don't be silly Frasier... It was obviously to give Ipswich a chance as they obviously weren't good enough to look a threat by themselves...

Last time I took my dad to the Britannia was the debacle of Birmingham City. Was it 8 - 0? I left before the end. Needless to say I haven't taken him again.!!!!!!
