I seem to remember a big win back in the sixties, maybe in the top division too.

9-1 in the early 60s. And I was there! And weren't Ipswich the defending league champions? We were that good once before the days of the greedy *astards league.

I normally used to go to games in the early 60s with a girlfriend but she couldn't make it that day. When I saw her early evening she wouldn't believe me about the score until she saw it on the TV later that night.
It was 21 March 1964 in the old first division. Ipswich had been league champions 2 years earlier. Scorers for us were:
Violett 3 McIlroy 2 Ritchie 2 Dobing 1 and Bebbington 1
Ritchie would have been livid to have not got a hat trick when Violett got one! ;D

64 - 0 and the funny thing is, it was only a couple of hours after I'd drunk two bottles of single malt ;D ;D

Arrr, those were the days. I remember us beating Plymouth 9. 0. But any win will do tomorrow.

4-1 05/06 season - boskamp era At ipswich. also 3-2 at brit to go top during the so called binary season 04/05 Remember the 3:2 win in early March '04. My daughter - then 9 - was a mascot. I had broken my left ankle, and was in plaster & on crutches. Couldn't keep a sock on over the plaster, and with the temperature below freezing, nearly go frostbite in my toes. Then, to cap it all, my ex (her Mother), who was only attending because of my daughter being mascot, refused to give me a lift home meaning that I had to get the bus. Worth it for the win though.
