I was only 18 last week and want go preston away so thoguht i might try sneak it but do they check age?

You'll almost certainly be alright. Different people check the ID card to who check your ticket
Edit: although when your ordering they probably actually

I'm sure you'll be fine mate. Buy your ticket and if you get queried at the ground just say you were 18 when you bought the ticket and forgot about your birthday (or slip the bloke a fiver, probably still cheaper

If your going with a fellow id card person just go the ground, or ring up and get them get your ticket, always works.

They barely check the picture of your ID card nevermind the age.
Getting the ticket in your first place will be your biggest obstacle.

i went down the ground at 4ish, there were only 2 people in the cue

Mate,I go away every week. There are at least four of us up to a maximum of 10 to get tickets together, whenever we go they don't even check the ID Cards. Occasionally they will check 1 but thats it. They just ask if you have a card give you your tickets and off you go
