Having never actually walked this before. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to walk? Train leaves stoke at 5.30 on saturday and am not sure whether I'd make it.
Cheers

If it's a 20k ish attendance you'd better leave a bit early cos it gets bottlenecked at the bottom of the canal bridge.

Close call, we walk along the canal every home game and get there for about 5.30. Albeit our train is at 5.20, so an hour in the Roebuck is the norm. Make sure u jump the fence behind Stan's statue and over the A50, that knocks valuable minutes off yer journey. See you in the Roebuck celebrating if u dunna make it on time.

When you jump over the fence, have a look at the flowers next to the A50 to mark where a lad tried to do the same recently and was hit by numerous vehicles.
Do the sensible thing, take the towpath. STM

Fair call lads didn't realise that's where the lad came a cropper. Been goin that way all season, and yes it is a bit dicey, so take it or leave it, your choice. I was just letting you know the quickest way to the station.

Do it all the time before the match (and hate it) but take the bus afterwards. It's a fair walk but you're pribably - no, make that certainly younger than me and won't have any trouble. Just a reminder that trains are usually late but never the one you want to be.
