He's no different from Higgy, both cant pass for shit.
Then again he did win player of the year for 2 years running i think.

Can't see the point in this signing at all, unless TP has come to the conclusion that Dicko isn't going to be up to providing cover, and Collins is a replacemet for him?
Can't see Collins displacing Higgy, so I'm expecting this will mean Dicko saying ta-ra. He'd be a good signing for a championship team for about 750k.

Oh poo ... can we only buy from teams in the North East or what!! From a North East perspective, Stoke is the glamourous south. It's he bright lights of Jammage that draw them here.

The reality is that he's got bags of Prem experience, was good enough to have won the Sunderland POTY award for the past two years, is a very solid defender, can cover a couple of positions, has the right DNA and will help keep a tight defence while the players with more flair will take the play forward.
Very good squad signing for comparative peanuts.

He hasn't won it twice, he won it once, last season, which given how abortively bad Sunderland were last year is on a par with winning a beauty pageant in a burns unit.

He hasn't won it twice, he won it once, last season, which given how abortively bad Sunderland were last year is on a par with winning a beauty pageant in a burns unit. It was still in a team consisting of Jones, Cisse, Richardson, Malbranque, Ferdinand e.t.c I think you should give the guy a chance and wait until you have actually seen him play for Stoke before you srart writing him off.

Weren't Jones, Richardson and Malbranque injured a lot though? Cisse's goals dried up and our resident Sunderland fans seem to think Ferdinand should have won it. I'll always give my full support to anyone once they've signed for Stoke, but my opinion is that this is a very uninspiring signing, especially compared to the tremendous ones of the past couple of days.

Danny will be a good signing for you. He's a decent footballer and gives 100% I think Bruce is just gradually getting rid of the '15 point' players, of which both Collins and Whitehead were two. It's probably time for Danny to go but I think most Sunderland fans will wish him well and have a tinge of disappointment. He might be an uninspiring signing in your eyes but he'll be a good one, mark my words.

I cannot believe you lot - Tony Pulis makes 2 of the best signings in the clubs recent history, he then makes a decision to bring in another from another prem club a day or so later and some on here start calling the player and questioning Pulis for the decision. I know in who I trust!
For those I suggest you get out of your small time club mentally, we need quality cover and players challenging each other for places in the team. We have a steady first team which is great, but looking beyond that we don't have much more! To start to knock a player (if he comes) before he has even kicked a ball for us about sums some on here up!
I hope he does come, puts pressure on the incumbents and makes us a stronger and better side.

If he has won the player of the year at a club like sunderland whose fans on the whole want the same from their team as we want he'll do for me.

....like the comments
Tony Pulis makes a trolley dash through the North East
having sampled Boro he now seems intent on clearing the Sundeland isle with bids in for two more of their players Collins and Jones

Higgy is shite, if this Collins lad can play LB let's get him in! You don't get player of the year 2 seasons on the bounce for sweet F.A.
