He's nowhere near match fit and really shouldn't have started tonight. He got through the Wolves match fine, looked to be struggling after about an hour against Southampton and tonight just wasn't there from the start.
I can see where TP is coming from; Salif needs games and he thought he'd get away with giving him another 90 tonight against the team bottom of the league, but his priority from now on has got to be the team and not Salif.

He was scarily, scarily off-the-pace, wasn't he? Moving Delap into the middle with Whelan seemed to change the game. I hope we stay with that midfield combo against Ipswich.

i just think with salif being out of te game so long, he still seems short of fitness, there's no doubt he has something to offer too us, and we saw last season that he can prove a massive player, to be honest i think the more games he plays the more his form will improve, but with the options of: cressy, pugh, delap, lawrence, whelan, gally, matteo ( when fit ) everyone has to earn there place in the team, and i wouldn't be suprised at all to see, pugh in the centre with whelan, and cressy back in the side against ipswich.

Salif was a shadow of the player he was last season, but he will get betters as he gets fitter. Remember how bad Delap was at the start of the season & look at him now.

Poor game. Really frustrating because every so often he does something good, picked out a really smart pass tonight but was caught out so many times.

It changed the game when he went off, should have kept Eustace, on current form, a much better player. At least Pulis had the courage to take him off. He shouldn't be starting games as he is a liability.

Well done to Salif for giving his best when clearly not match fit.

Pulis obviously like the rest of us saw what a mare Salif was having, and changed it just at the right time, after scoring the first goal. With cresswell on and the midfielf shuffled we really took the game to Scunny

It was worrying how lazy / off the pace he looked at times, but it really got to me how some of the fans around me were practically calling for his head on a plate. It seems like some always feel the need to moan and have a scapegoat. I'm in no way defending some of the situations he got us into - he really did not look comfortable on the ball at times - but the reaction from some was more than a little concerning ('Fuck off back to Africa', 'You're wank, just fuck off you useless twat' etc.) The guy has played just 3-4 games since his lengthy lay off - maybe people need to be more patient? As harrystaxi has said, Delap was far from being a star performer much of the early part of the season and most were desperate to get new players in so he could be dropped - but now I bet he's one of the first names on the teamsheet, even with the new arrivals.

One thing with Diao though, he may be a yard off the pace at the moment, but we all know there is a very gifted player there once fit!!

He should never have started, IMHO.
He's not played for about 9 months and then been asked to start three games inside a week. We have plenty of options now too!
I actually thought that he was guilty of ball watching for the second goal but having now seen it replayed numerous times on SSN............we're famous all of a sudden ;D ...............the No 14 who he was originally marking clearly gives him a tug as he makes a run off his shoulder.
That said, he had a poor game and did look sluggish. Hardly surprising though an I'm sure he'll get better as he sharpens up.

Thought he we was a bit off the pace tonight but when he gets match fit he is a winner for us.
TP should not have played him tonight just for confidence reasons ?
