Don't know whether other people have noticed, but i seem to have come accross a few comments recently doing down the Brit. I know its always been critisised since we moved to it, and call it sour grapes or whatever because we're doing well, but some fans love to have a pop at it.
I work with a Derby season ticket holder who callls it 'the most souless ground he's been to'. Obviously i've heard/read similar comments from West Brom/Wolves fans but i've learned to not pay any attention to the cack most of them come out with, but i suppose it topped it off when i read a comment by a Scunthorpe fan saying we've got the worst ground in the league! Has he never been to Ninian park or Layer Road?
I know it will never have the character of the Vic and the corners are not filled in blah blah, but is the away day experience really that bad for some fans? I certainly don't think we've got one of the best grounds in the league, and it can be a bit souless when its half empty with a lack of atmosphere, but i also think it can be a pretty good place when we get a few in. But, i suppose that if we are going to be more successful, we're going to have to get used to people finding things to have a go at. Just interested in other people's opinion when they hear comments like that.

Any ground is soulless and crap when its a poor crowd. The Vic could be like a morgue sometimes.
If you don't like it you don't like it BUT the idea that its the worst ground in the league is bollox.

That's what i thought. Certainly can think of more grounds with character but can think of ones with a lot less as well.

Perhaps we just have to accept that thats what some people say and we have to get over it.

Its not necessaraily the ground itself, its the transport system, lack of pubs around the ground causing those that are their to be overfull.
Poor ticketing systems and small concourses all have an effect

I always hated the brit becuase i loved the vic so much, but then I went to Bury at home just after our Auto Windscreens win in 2000. Thorney scored a hat trick and the atmosphere was a s good as anything i've experienced at the vic. The soul is there, we just a need a team good enough to bring it out on a regular basis. Maybe we do now????

is it true that we're on about installing wind shields for the open corners?

I dont think the ground itself is bad at all, I think the location is woefull. That ground built where the Old Vic was would have been great. Something needs doing about the wind circling round its terrible.
