And where are all the truthful Stoke fans admitting that our football, though successful, really is horrible to watch? That's the only criticism people make of us. They say we're organized, hard-working, passionate and ambitious. So why does everyone get so upset when they talk about our 'route one' game? The fact is, that's what we are: route one but goddamned good at it! So let's just be honest with ourselves,eh, even if we can't be honest with anyone else?

But we arn't anymore
We used ot be i will grant you that
Now we mix. If you actully go to home and away games you will see. Ok sometimes it oes become route one all the time when we don't have a choice. Since mid December we have really been mixing Hoof with on the ground stuff and it has shown recently in our play
For this league you need a mix. Hoof on its own wont work and tippy tappy on its own wont work ala Brazil
The reason we get pissed of is because we are more then "just a route one team now"
PS- And doesn't high scoring matches = entertainment in football?
The hull game is probably the only "horrible football" i have seen in a stoke game for much of this season tbh

Don't like the footy, mate. Thought we'd start playing a lot more with Whelan and Gally in the team but it's just not happening. I care as much, if not more, about how we play as about our results. I know that's a minority view but it's my view and I believe I'm entitled to it. Disappointed that so many have prioritized 'win at all costs' to be honest. But that's their view and they're entitled to that.

But... we're not really a long ball team, we're not a 20 pass carpet football team, we're a set-piece specialist team, aren't we? That's not the most fluent sight in the world but it's not Wimbledon of the Noughties (copyright Bryan where's my P45 Robson) either, it's not horrible to watch and we're about to find out if it's the most effective way of getting out of this division, fingers crossed. Why was that ok for O'Neil's Leicester ok and not us??

A Saints-supporting mate of mine at the other night's game:
"I am actually surprised at how much football you play - I thought you'd be more long ball"

Hello Moron 23. Have you not counted the goals from set pieces? I accept your idiot views. You accept mine eh, prick? Err, exactly what's wrong with goals from set-pieces? Perhaps we should sportingly refuse to accept corners and only look to score from moves which inolve an uninterrupted chain of at least 10 passes? What a bunch of tossers we are... playing to strengths which give us an advantage. Mind you, Man Utd never semed to mind too much when Beckham, and now Ronaldo, were banging in those free kicks from, er, set-piece situations!

Lots of teams score goals from set pieces. Why is that suddenly a bad thing. Its better than wasting them like we did a few years ago.
