More surprising is that Sheffield Utd board have made a sensible decision after a run of dimal ones including firing Warnock, who would had them in the play-off places this year and hiring Robson in the first place, a great player, but as a manager he has underwhelmed in every job he has had.

Has Hudsongod reappeared yet - DEMANDING that Coates sacks TP and hires Robbo under threat of a red card protest? ;D

If Coates ever appointed Robson as manager of Stoke, he would be under a hail of something but wouldn't be HG's red cards
Good news for us, they can only improve now shame they didn't sack him before their visit to Rio De Smethwick on Tuesday

Strange isn't it, if you'd been asked in 1990 "name one top flight player who will definately make it as a manager" you would answer "Bryan Robson" without hesitation.
Who would have said Mark Hughes then, a few maybe. But he's done it and Robbo, well just aint good enough!!!

Maybe if he fucking smiled now and again, I wouldn't dislike him so much...
Then again, he did play for the shit, so I probably would.

He hasn't been sacked at all, he's been relieved of his duties. Rumour is that he will be offered a role similar to that of John Rudge.

Isn't that like being made to play in the corner with playdough and a big Dunce's hat on while the proper manager sorts out the mess you made?

Bet Warnock is pissin' himself.
And rightly so.
Yet again though, a board will walk away, scott free with no blame attached for ditching (for them) a perfectly good manager and hiring a perfectly wank one.
McCabe = Barwick. Old buffoon businessmen without a football bone in their body between them.
Times like this mean i even have to revise my opinion of (some aspects of) PC.

That is what i thought. The discussion was about him "moving upstairs" in an advisory capacity...... Maybe to ssave any payout!!!!!

Warnock wasnt fired, the board wanted him to stay but he thought he had taken them as far as he could so resigned.

This headline was written as long ago as last September when it became obvious to even the blind in charge at Sheff Utd that Robson is a tosspotical manager - like he was everywhere else in his less than distinguished career! PS, a mate of mine who lives near to him in Hale say's he's a really nice bloke though!

What utter, utter bollox.
He should at least have the gumption and the backbone to walk away.
Oh, there we go again - another parallel - just like McClaren did of course.

I don't think that's how Warnock tells it is it gary?
Still think Robbo's a good manager?

Not true Gary, Sean Bean was having increasing influence on the board and McCabe felt that they needed a 'big time' manager, so a parting of the ways was inevitable sooner or later.
Robson has got jobs on his reputation as a player but I don't think many teams will touch him now. Another one bites the dust !

Not sure what the press release said at the time Gary but a difference of opinion took place whatever you want to call it.
They had Warnock and they chose (of their own free will ! ) to get Robson, factamundo.
