another 3 points,
and let's be honest southampton really aren't a bad side at all, surman, john, viafara all player's who can turn games and we've stood up and despite having a shocking second half, we've grinded out another crucial 3 points.

I actually think I will give him 9 and I tell you why he resited temptation to substitute which I personally think we would have shit it. He perservered long enough for us to bring the ship through choppy waters. Cracking 2 games on the bounce more of it Stoke .... Oh and 19,000 you are having a bubble!!!

9 from me too for exactly the same reason sidders gave. He held his nerve when he could easily have gone into his shell. Had he done so, we would probably have lost that game.
I don't think there was much the team could have done about the second half. They were 3-0 down and simply came at us shit or bust. We could have won by 5 or 6 at the end had we put away half of the 4 great headed chances we had in the second half and also but for a great save from their keeper from a cross.
A tremendously exciting game of nogger.

6. Pretty good first half but when the team really needed his support during the 20 minute blitz after half time he didn't seem to do anything to calm them down. We need him to be telling the likes of Diao and Grffin to be put their foot on the ball and change the pace of the game at times like that but it didn't happen and we were frankly lucky to escape.

should have subbed Salif at half-time
way off the pace and part of the reason for the early second half onslaught from saints.

8 we won and that's what counts. We scored three from the set pieces TP has set us out to be dangerous from so all good there. But he loses 2 marks for not reacting to the Saints over-running us in midfield. Diao should have been subbed after the hour mark because he was blowing like fook.

8.5. Thought a lot of the pressure we were under was caused by our two wide playes playing too deep, as mentioned by Nigel Cleghorn last night. I was watching TP (mainly to see if he was subbing)and he WAS telling the players (well, LL) to push up. Thought he might have brought Cally on for Diao who I thought didn't have a very good second half. That's not being too critical as I'm a big Diao fan, but he's not match fit yet. For all that, a good three points against one of the earlier fancied teams.

I also think he did well to not make panicky changes and let them scrap through it.

7 - seemed lost at what to do second half. Players stripped and then not bought on, lots of instruction to individuals during stoppages, but didn't rectify us sitting too deep until way into second half.
A win is a win tho. Well done.

Amazingly, given BEB's rating, the average is a modest 7.6.
