Does anyone know if it's true that Halls played yesterday only after having a pain-killing injection and was from from100% fit?
And that Russell had an upset tummy before the match -hence his after goal celebration of rubbing his tummy.
It makes the performance even more remarkable considering all of the other injuries.

In a way I hope it is true about Halls. His performance was so far below normal that an injury is the most satisfying explanation. If Russell had been ill then that makes his performance even more remarkable. If he can play like that alongside Eustace we will have a midfield to be proud of.

One of this morning's papers does indeed state that Halls only played after receiving a painkilling injection.
He was at fault for both Walsall goals but that fact does put a different glint on his least effective game yet for The Potters.
It is a testament to the team that we had players turning out who weren't even fully fit!

He was certainly limping when he was substituted.
Just hope it isn't too serious.

Halls has been carrying a foot injury for several weeks now and has even been playing with one boot bigger than the other because of it.

In that case Andrew, Wilson should not be allowed to go back to Cheltenham until Halls is 100% fit again. This may be Wilson's big chance to shine - I don't think he'll let us down.
Hope Wilson makes the spot his own as I have a theory that Halls and Eustace would make a great pairing in centre midfield. Another long term possibility is for Halls to play at full back with Wilson in front of him on the wing - he has a sweet cross and plenty of pace.

I have still yet to see Wilson play John but TP wants him to get as much experience as possible playing against seasoned pro's rather than odd cameos and reserve games and feels he needs to 'toughen up a bit.' Like you I would love to see Halls alongside Eustace. Svard sounded encouraging yesterday mind.

That's quite encouraging that TP sees Wilson as having a future. There is no doubt that Cheltenham fans and management love him to bits and would sign him tomorrow if they could. Lets hope TP sees enough in him to never give them the chance. Pleased to see that TP is making a policy of sending far more young players out on loan than past managers did. Henry and Goodfellow should have gone out on loan spells two years ago in my opinion and Goodfellow might have broken into the first team squad properly if he had. Alternatively he might still have been sold but would have built up sufficient "pedigree" to have attracted a higher fee. I think Bristol may well have got a bargin!

Right. Of course they are.
Why did you mention this? Are you referring to Wilson gaining experience in the lower leagues against these so-called 'identicle' lower league strikers? Or Goodfellow becoming a lower league striker...where he should do well and develop a little more???
