Seeing as the Premier League no longer give a flying fudge about the League Cup, does anyone think it would be a good idea to tell them to bugger off and leave it to the Football League? It would give a chance for two real football clubs to have their day out at Wembley, and would probably have more matches with a lot more entertainment and passion than Liverpool against Chelsea reserves. Again.
thoughts?

Is there still a UEFA Cup place for winning it?

Reasonable idea but they wouldn't want a non Premier club taking a Europe place very year.
If the Europe place was abolished however.....

I have said this before and I'll say it again. the Premier League can fuck off. They're not about the football, they're about the money. And even if Stoke are in the premiership raking in the money, even if by some miracle we become part of the Big Four and play our 39th game in Islamabad I will keep on saying it.

I think a reasonable compromise would be that any team entering Europe does not enter the League Cup. Gives the lesser prem teams a realistic road to Europe and greater chance for lower league teams to reach Wembley.
