He took an awful lot of stick last time he was at Stoke and also took a lot of grief when he re-bought the club. Closely folloed by stick for re-appointing TP.
BUT I now believe it is time for us to congratulate him on what he has done for our club. He has shown he is willing to put his money on the table to get us to the promised land.

A song at this stage is, perhaps, a step too far. In my opinion, there is no point in keep referring back to PC's first reign at the club. He didn't have to come back & when he did I thought he was nuts. Who in their right mind, particularly, at his age, would wish to run the risk of verbal abuse & violence for him & his family. I can only conclude his intentions are honorable even if a place in the Premiership will no doubt put the club in the shop window & ultimately he will sell up.
Getting to the point, a song no, but credit & support this time around from the fans ought to be 100%. Put it another way how many other Chairman in the Championship would we swap him for, not too many I suspect?
Hopefully, we will sing his praises when we get promoted, he would then fully deserve it.

When Stoke went down, we all went down, And Coatsey was a wanker, Then he came back with his money sack, Now Coatsey is the banker,
Peter Coates, Peter Coates, Peter Peter Coates, He was wank before, but he ain't no more, Peter, Peter Coates!

I wished him happy birthday but I draw the line at a snog.
For me he's well on the way to making up for the past, this season's been great but like Dave says, there's a hell of a lot to make up for. So I'll wait hopefully for the first game of next season in the Prem, then I would sing (but still not snog, sorry, I'm as broadminded as the next woman but there are limits...).
;D @ stateside, have some karma for those nail on head (respect to RAF) lyrics.
