If you are opposed to the greedy and outrageous proposal of the Premier League to take competitive games abroad, and destroy the competetive integrity of the league by introducing a seeded 39th game, PLEASE take a few minutes to sign the FSF petition, which can be found on www.fsf.org.uk. Please also ask friends, family etc to sign. If you are so inclined, you can also join the FSF whilst you are there (well worth it just for the magazine) If you are interested in doing something more, particularly if you live in one of the areas below, we have called national campaign planning meetings as follows 18 February - London 19 February - Newcastle (on Tyne !) 21 February - Wigan 22 February - Birmingham A meeting in South Yorkshire, date not confirmed, is also likely Details of these meetings will appear on the website. This is a battle we can win It would be helpful to keep this near the top.

Funny that Man Utd (probably one of the main instigators behind this) are now claiming that they lost to Man City because the players were fatigued from too many games. They are gonna love that extra game in Tokyo then

it makes me laugh that the PL spokesman said they only did this to stop the top 5 clubs making their own league. Who would those clubs be?? Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea................erm, whos the 5th??? Newcastle??? (as funny as that would be). If they want to make their own league, i say let them. but any players in those teams can NEVER play a FIFA international match, and the clubs are banned from ALL fifa/Uefa competitions. Might take the game back to the good old days when anyone can win the league, and im fairly sure most players wouldnt want to not be able to play for their national team again.

Bizarrely our lot could learn something from the Americans. Scudamore and his money grabbing cronies should take note of US Soccer chief Sunil Gulati who is against this proposal.
"We understand it's a global sport but it's about nurturing the home game. '

Thanks for the support, Stokies. I've never known anger like this from football fans. At FSF towers we've had in excess of 800 emails about it - unprecedented for us. This is what one of my colleagues called a "Rubicon moment" in football.
Slight change of plan - the Wigan meeting is now on 18th.

Can anyone really entertain going miles out of their way to watch the garbage that was Chelsea vs Liverpool at the weekend. The only entertainment was when the ref was passed the ball. It's laughable that any country (even Taiwan, Thailand etc) would want that in their backyard.

I've signed.
All Scudamore can think of is ways to fill the big boys pockets. Why doesn't he accept the challenge of restoring competitive football to England.
He and his "think tank" have done more to turn the English League into the procession found in Scotland than any other organisation has ever done.
This is just a further way to widen the divide.
The very basis on which competitive football is built on is the symmetry of home and away fixtures. This berk wants to toss that aside for a few dollars in the pockets of those who need it least!

Signed.
What is needed to encourage the global game is decent local teams in Bankok, Sydney, Dubai, LA etc, so the locals can go and SUPPORT their LOCAL team. They don't need a visit from Man Utd (or even Stoke City for that matter) encouraging them to support a non-local team.

I can't be arsed to sign it.
The powers that be should know what is good for the game without having to be told.
The more I think about, the less arsed I become.
Take the Premiership if we got there, could you imagine the scramble for away tickets at some of the top grounds?
As someone who only makes 7-8 away games a season in general then I think we will do well to secure tickets for local away games in any case.
As much as I want us to get to the Prem, I know I'm going to be mightly disappointed when I get there.

When is a league not a league? When the FA are running it.
I'm sure even funny foreigners have more sense than to chuck money at mediocre multimillionaires but I've signed just in case.

You're never gonna let me live that down, tnbuiscuits, are you ? As for the flag - well it could only happen at Stoke - lose the bloody flag on the one night when there might have been enough in to pass it round the crowd
