I have been waiting on the phone for over an hour and have slowly got from being 20somethingth in the queue to 7th. However, the office closes at 5.30 pm - will they clear all the calls before they go i.e. will I get answered or have I had it for today ?!

Maybe I mis-read the Stoke City website, I thought it was only untuil 5.30 pm.

I checked again - according to the official website they are open until 5.30 pm Mon-Thurs and until 7 pm on a Friday if it is a home match on the Saturday; will this latter rule apply to a midweek match then ?!
I am slowly creeping up the queue still - now 4th - so either people are hanging up or they are answering them.

I will give it 5 more minutes - the phone bill is costing me a bomb - it is my home phone ;-( and see if ian1965 has made any progress !

Well I am going to give up - I cannot believe that I would really be stuck at 4th in the queue for over 30 minutes (which I now have been).
If they are not going to answer calls after a certain time they should clear the queue so that I do not waste further money holding for an answer that I am not going to get. Or they should post a message saying that if you are still queuing after 5.30 that you should hang up as it is not going to be answered.
I am not a happy bunny !

ian1965 - I thiink you will find it is because people are hanging up e.g. me.
Stoke-fan-23 : I can get to the ground tomorrow so in addition to queing for 1hr 30 mins on the phone I will enjoy a 1 hour wait to get tickets for me and my son. At least the weather forecast is good ! :-)

It may surprise some people to know that the staff at the ticket office have lives too and may want to go home to their families when their workday is over.

Spiderman - they should have a process for dealing with people in the queue on the telephone when they pack up and go home.
I do not expect them to wait all night and I appreciate they have lives and families etc. but why keep us hanging on the phones telling us we are 4th in the queue etc. when we are not going to get answered.
I will smite you again sir as soon as the hour is up since I last smited you !
