Stoke fans are on course to answer Tony Pulis's call for a 20,000 crowd to descend on the Britannia Stadium tomorrow night.Supporters have been queuing from the Britannia ticket office past the club shop all day after responding in their droves to a "buy-one, get-one free" ticket offer for the home games with Southampton tomorrow and Scunthorpe on Friday (both 7.45pm kick-offs).
The club is estimating a turnout of around 20,000 for the Saints game, when victory could see Stoke leapfrog from fourth to first in the Coca-Cola Championship table.
A club spokesman said they were hoping for an even bigger crowd for Friday's match, which will see Tunstall-born Martin Paterson return to the Brit for the first time as a player since quitting the Potters for Scunthorpe in the summer.
"There's a real buzz about the place," said Pulis today, "and seeing our supporters queuing outside for tickets just adds to that.
"We need them in numbers and noise for every home game now, beginning with Southampton, and I'm sure they won't let us down."
Stand-in skipper Andy Griffin and star striker Ricardo Fuller are at least two changes to the starting line-up as they return to the first 11 tomorrow.
Richard Cresswell is Stoke's only definite absentee as he completes a two-match ban.
