Only half caught it, but Neil Warnock was being interviewed on Sky Sports news just, blaming the linesman for costing his side a possible win / draw, whatever... Barry Knight walks past, Warnock abandons the interview, runs after Knight shouting 'Barry, can I have a word with you' as the camera follows.. ;D ???

Apparently he missed a dive by one of their players in the penalty box..

Probably was a bit pissed off with losing and wanted to try and get the bung back he gave him at half-time against us.

If ya see the highlights of the game there was two penalties turned down, one for Norwich and one for Shite Utd. Both almost identical and both turned down.
For once (and I'd never thought I'd be saying this) the referee got it right

There was a Norwich fan on 6-0-6 saying how crap Barry Knight was, pulling every little niggle up and talking to the players when he should have either waved play on or said no more after giving a free-kick.
And that's from a supporter of the winning side! He said if a Sheffield United fan rang up he would say the same as Knight was just as bad for both sides.
This man is clearly a very bad referee, so why aren't the relevant authorities doing anything about it? The same goes for Rob Styles as well, it's ridiculous!

Just seen the interview myself .... makes you wonder if Warnock has any memory cells at all given what we all witnessed when Sheff Utd visited the Brit.
Totally blamed the linesman for them losing ... how pathetic an excuse is that ? From what I saw of the highlights it looked one way with Norwich missing chance after chance.
Still, never got in the way of Warnock talking bollox before has it ?

There's a great picture of Neil Warnock confronting referee Barry Knight at the end of the game in today Sunday People ! It does indeed seem as though Neil Warnock has a very short memory. He wasn't moaning about Barry Knight after the Stoke game was he! Anyway, it's a safe bet that the picture in SP will be making itinto the next issue of The Oatie... along with some appropriate comments! Smudge

Aint it funny how the managers who usually complain about referees the most are the ones who usually profit form their decisions the most (Warnock, Ferguson)

I have to say i pissed myself laughing when i heard Warnock was blaming Knight of all people.
'Ah, justice is served' is what i first thought, well in a way!
How many more times will that insane excuse for a ref ruin matches before something is done about him?

Isn't Knight the geezer who booked Lumo at Wycombe? I think it was there.
Their goalie kicked the ball into the back of Lumo running away; ref running in the same direction as Lumo & couldn't have seen what happened turned around, made an asumption about Lumo's conduct & booked him.
The t*** couldn't have seen what happened because we could & we were looking at Knight & Lumo running towards us in the away end.
That makes him a dishonest so'n so & a lousy ref. Makes a good companion for Warnock.

Well remembered Codplacer...almost! I've just delved back to the match report of that game at Wycombe (took me about twenty minutes thanks to Rivals' lightning speed ). Here are a few snippets: "Our cause wasn't helped by the performance of referee Barry Knight...His bookings of Van Duerzen and Thomas for the most innocuous of fouls were baffling to say the least, left both players on a knife edge for a good hour of the game and undoubtedly affected their performances. However, his decision to lecture Chris Iwelumo, who had the ball kicked into his back from a Wycombe free-kick which Knight didn't actually see was extraordinary."
"Referee Knight's performance didn't get any better as the game wore on and he failed miserably to get a grip of Wycombe's gamesmanship. Bjarni Gudjonsson was once again at the sharp end of The Chairboys' questionable tactics, as was Brynjar Gunnarsson who seemed to be struck by a Wycombe player following a foul which earned our captain a yellow card."
"That's not to say that Barry Knight didn't make several decisions which upset the Wycombe faithful. His coup de grace came when he flashed only a yellow card in the face of our goalkeeper Neil Cutler, following a foul on Sean Devine outside the box. Let's be honest here; if that incident at happened at the other end of the ground we would have been screaming for a red card and Cutz can count himself extremely lucky for not taking an early bath. It was, without doubt, the worst decision of the game from a very poor referee (and where he found just three minutes of stoppage time I'll never know!)."
Once a tool, always a tool, eh?

Dave
sorry about me memory. It; 's goin' it's goin.......... I'll soon be posting a comp[letely unintelligble load of 'ollocks from yesteryear that only my nurse understands & you'll have to ask TEL to go down to the off-licence for more of my medicine so I can continue.
However, B. Knight is a **** , in spades. Lack of moral fibre it was called when OS was a lad. Me? I just think he's a weak willed liar posing as a ref.
Any thoughts FA?

He has a very difficult job to do. I'd like to know how many of you have refereed at the highest level because, if you haven't you should stick to what you know - like how to hold a pint in one hand and scratch your arse at the same time with the other.

do you really need to have reffed at any level to know a muppet when you see one ?
I've seen good refs in action, they are out there, we just don't get that many do we . they are either diabolical or medicre at best

Whilst still on the subject of refs, I'd like to say how impressed I was with the one on Saturday. He was fair, got almost every decision spot on, wasn't controversial and a big headed git. Top Stuff. Jon

The only bad decision I saw on saturday was the failure to book the player who tackled Neal from behind almost in front of the dugout. That tackle was at least as bad as the one which brought our booking. Apart from that he had a good game.

Who was he though?
And can we have him every week? ;D
