You can start NOW (even though its only Feb!) to put in the results of the games and see how the league turns out. I've predicted Feb to the end based on current form - This is my table based on my predictions! I know its hard to do without letting your heart rule your head, but I have tried to be fair! news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/predictor/default.stmTeam Played Points Stoke 35 65 Bristol C 34 61 West Brom 33 60 Watford 34 60 Charlton 34 53 Palace 34 50 Some tough fixtures for some of the top team this month Palace v Ipswich, Charlton v Watford, Bristol v Palace, Stoke v Ipswich Looking at the fixtures, we have 3/4 key fixtures left - Away at Watford (late March), Home to Palace (5/4) and Home to Bristol (19/4) - both the April games could see us home before the last two games, which should both be predicted victories away at Colchester (hopefully relegated by then!) and last game at home to Leicester - If we need something from the leicester game I'm not sure my nerves will take it! It was bad enough at the Reading game the other year when Adie saved us!

I make it extremely tight on the last day, with West Brom drawing to QPR away from home, a la us last season and us beating Leicester 3-1. It maybe a shock but I fancy Charlton to win the league. Dont know how it happened...just filled out the results and Charlton were top:
1. Charlton +30 87pts 2. Stoke +27 86pts
3. West Brom +42 84pts 4. Watford +22 82pts 5. Bristol City +7 78pts 6. Crystal Palace +16 75pts
7.Ipswich +19 72pts
Bottom 5:
20. Sheff Utd 49pts 21. Coventry 49pts 22. Sheff Wed 45pts 23. Scunthorpe 41pts 24. Colchester 37pts

To be honest, i really can't see brizzle city keeping the pace up till the end of the season, i know they look a strong side at the moment, but i think it's only a matter of time before there wheels spin off, for me they'll finish 6th. I can definately see brazil albion making the top two, and agree with Charlton, Crystal Palarse, and Watford obtaining play-off places. And as for the mighty potters well i think we have every chance of automatic promotion really, trips to loftus road, vicarage road, carrow road, and potentially a trip to layer road could see a tough game as both sides scrap for points us for potential auto promotion and them survival. We still have a lot of work to do yet, and this is the most excited i have felt as a stokie for a long time, i really think this is the year, of course though the club and players need to stay firmly on ground level till we've achieved our target because the job's not done just yet. Nevertheless, WE R GOIN UP Gooaarrnnn Stoke!

You never like to do these as, no matter how hard you try there is still a bias i think.
(Even when i closed my eyes & played Russian roulette with the numbers on the keyboard, we still kept winning every game 7 - 0 ;D.)
Also you don't want to put a hex on anything - as everything is going so well.
But put it this way, we weren't second. ;D ;D
And it wasn't West Brazillian Arrisholes that was either. ;D ;D ;D

Another good one is football365's which predicts the final points total on season form and also recent form. It's not linked to on their site but you can get it here: stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/runin.htmlWe are set to finish 4th on 77 based on recent form, the two promoted clubs (WBA and BC) will get 78, and watford 77.5! I don't know if I can cope with a finish that close! Does show how low the top points totals could be compared to previous seasons. My own guess on ours is 79 or 80, so that could even be enough.

Yes such a lot of fun and okay I do have some bias I guess but I thought I was biased towards all the current top 6 as I went. So We go clear at game 40 and at 44 are 5 pts clear - winning the Championship at Colchester. BC go up with us and "Coventry" are relegated. If this turns out to be true - "I told you so" - if it does not work out - then it was just a bit of fun.

without a bias, i have us finishing up on 80 points. definatly a playoff place, but i would of thought we will miss out on automatic

Tried this too and got us finishing second on 81 points. Unlikely sadly.
Had a quick look at previous final tables and no-one goes up with less than 86 pts, most second places have 89 or 90.
Maybe I'm just too pessimistic!

I reckon it will be a lower points total than usual required, but I'd have though at least 83 would be needed for top 2. On the other hand I reckon 71-72 for play-offs, which is only 18 points from 15 games. We should get that very comfortably

The points tally is normally higher for the first two because there is usually a runaway leader, a fairly clear second and then a pack of 8 or so chasing the play off places
This year sees 4/5 clubc with a chance of auto still (with lower points than normal because they beat each other), and 6th down to possibly 12th/13th still in with a playoff shout?
There are at least 8 clubs on 43-45 points, which is quite ridiculous!
Would be fantastic to see Stoke as the side that powers on now and romps away with it, and the next two games are a good indicator - once in front its yours to lose!
Like any decent racehorse, theres no good shooting your bolt early season (Watford), its all about timing and getting your run right!
In previous seasons January has been crap for us when in this position, whereas this year we rode through the rough time still picking points up. Which is why I am farily excited as we seem to be coming into a rich vein of form at the right time.
A point at Charlton (or all 3!) would have been the icing on the cake, but hey ho!

Had us to come a point behind West Brom level on points with Watford but better GD
Did give WBA the benefit in a few games- thinking about it not sure why
Had Hull to sneak a play off-Bristol City 5th
Put us down for a 1-1 tonight
I wasn't talking about Mark Lawrenson in the thread title... ;D Would Karma you but just used- dishing it out today
