Have to say I get a bit pissed when everyone goes on about how much we have spent on players etc. Remember we got rid of Higgy £ 2.5 mill , Hof £ 750,000 , Dubes £ 800,00 to name but a few more than what we have spent. We have replaced not added ! A fair point ?

This has been discussed on here a few times before.
Firstly, our spending (potentially) is closer to 5 million than it is to 3 million. (2 mill for Shawcross, 1.2 Cort, 500k Wheelan, 300k Griff, Pugh 300k).
You also have to take into account other expenditure (buying the ground, the mich, wages etc).
I think there’s also still some left. He’s still looking for loan players and I imagine we’ll be looking to turn some moves into permanent ones (hopefully Gally).
I don’t know why you are pissed off about it. Enjoy it, it’s been a long time since we’ve spent this much!!

Money for Russel, few bob for Patterson too so i suppose in reality we havent spent that much, but this is Stoke we are talking about, since when do we re use the money from players sold !

With the wage bill apparently soaring over £6m, and the club losing tens of thousands every week, we can't complain too much.

Pugh 500k Griff 300k Cort 1.2mill (poss 200k more) Shawcross 1mill (poss 1mill more) Wheelan 500k
Potentially 4.7 Million
In addition there is the loan signing of Gally and the free transfer signing of Diao who will increase the wage bill (on top of the other signings’ wages above).
We’ve purchase the ground and training ground as well.
The total is probably pretty close to what we’ve made from sales over the past year or so but you have to take into consideration money we have spent in other areas plus the realistic possibility there is more to spend.
Be happy!! ;D ;D

or he could've used it to cover THE LOSS THAT THIS CLUB IS RUNNING AT.
i think we lost in the region of £3million last year. So lets net that off against the sales of players, and he's back to evens.
then-
1. he spent heavily on players 2. wages went up (improved calibre of player/improved terms for players like fuller) 3. bought the training ground 4. bought the stadium 5. cleared debt.
I could go on. What u can;t do tho, is pretend we've spent £3m, but we got £3m in, so really we've spent nowt. Clearly not.
Also, other clubs may have spent more. On what tho? So its also about spending well. I'm sure some would have said spend £2m on eastwood instead of £500k on fuller at the start of last season. You would have been ripped off something chronic.
so credit where its due.
Credit to the chairman for providing the resources. Credit to the manager for deploying them so well. In TP we trust.
revel in the good team we have, and the positive outlook, and stop looking for a cloud in that silver lining. Some people aren't happy unless they're moaning.

Some people are never happy, we made a decent profit on our transfers, primarily due to higgy sale and have a better team now

not too mention the purchase of the portakabin's I find it hard to believe that someone gets pissed off with the efforts of the club at the moment. There are so many good vibes coming out both on and off the pitch that it really beggars belief. I guess you can't please all the people all the time eh

I've said it before, but in the last 30 years we've always been a selling club. This is the first time I can remember that our outlay on players coming in has exceeded our income from sales. In light of Coatsey bankrolling the wage bill, buying the ground, investing in training facilities etc, there is absolutely nothing to complain about.
We've bought some bloody good players too!
The sleeping giant is waking from his slumbers.
It now needs everybody that cares about this club to get down to the Brit and show their support!
