As the debate about match attendances and attitudes rages, I am wondering about the influence of the 'Sentinel' on both? There's been a feeling amongst some for quite some time that it is hardly supportive about Stoke and more inclined to write the negative (which makes me wonder about the slant it puts in other issues to do with the area?). I'm all for honest, straight reporting (??!!). But we are a one paper town (and for a large part of the area) and so it can have a positive or negative impact depending on how it reports things. As a consequence I would have hoped it felt the need to support and promote the area balanced with fair reporting. I want to see the area (and the Club) talked up cos I think it needs it! So, 'The Sentinel' - help or hindrance?

IMHO - they had been anti SCFC for quite sometime with just the odd positive slant appearing now and again. Lately (these past couple of months) I would have said that they had swung to a far more positive approach with now just the odd negative. The ID cards piece I felt purposefully created a negative feel. I was very much against them at first - now I do not care one way or the other but if they stay - then the police and other clubs must start recognising SCFC supporters as good guys who need little control. If the sentinel tried to get that message out - it would be better of them.
