Reaction generally not positive on the South Coast.
*Good plan to do this poll Saintlee. If any of the Saints board read this site hopefully they will now get the message that 85% of Saints fans DONT want bloody Pulis!
*This aired on the radio on tuesday evening, apparently the presenter recieved a phone call from an ex player.
I have also heard it from a different source which makes me slightly concerned.
*Could be the most unpopular appointment in the history of the club.
*The alleged thought process behind the move -- if he fails, get him -- is side-splitting.
*His football has always been on the cruder side of direct.Even his track record isn't that good. One promotion (from the 4th tier ten years ago), mid-table mediocrity, failure at a couple of clubs.
He can't be anywhere close to being our first choice. It just can't be true.
*If true - what an unmitigated disaster waiting to happen and shame on the BOard. Hopefully not an ounce of truth in it!
*I could only stomach Pulis' style IF he was proven to be able to get teams out of the CCC. If he fails to get Stoke promoted then he has no value for us IMO.
*No but I would prefer him to Doddery and Gormless
*Hope this is more sh*t made up from the papers.
*Yep, if Pulis wants to hedge his bets then he should not be a candidate. Whatever happened to that phrase we all keep hearing when we get rid of players about hearts not in it and only wanting those who are fully commited? Does it not apply to managers then?
*What a nightmare if true.
*NO NO NO NO NO.The guy would be Branfoot MK2.
*Pulis could achieve the ultimate at Southampton in record time.He would be more hated than Branfoot, and I doubt he would last a season.
*its all paper talk.if we get a new investor he would want his own choice of manager
*IMHO I feel our options for a better quality manager will be greatly improved at the end of the season, as any manager is an option, within reason, as they will be more open to moving clubs at that point when they are looking to rebuild anyway.
*Its common sense. D&g have done ok and why change without really assessing the job in hand.Pulis will be p#####g off his board fans and players by not coming out and saying no.That will mean I suspect their form will drop and they will fade away.Or Pulis is hoping to unnerve his board and they give him a massive wage hike on the back of this.
*Our board would be foolish to appoint him bacause it is certain our fans are dead against his style of football , however effective it is in this league.
*Not to mention that, if Pulis was appointed later, we would be rewarding another manager for failure. Yes Mr Pulis, you failed to get promoted, come and join us!
*If were waiting till the summer id rather hoddle he should be available by then.
*Well that's me supporting Stoke for promotion this season
*For the love of god not Pulis
*Hmm, would be an interesting strategy...
"Hey Leon, I've got an idea, let's appoint a manager so long as he fails at his current club..."
*Why appoint somebody with no track record of promotion from our division, but only on the proviso that he fails again? Madness
*No. Why give a job to someone because he has just failed else where? Where's the ambition?
*No way. He is in his best spell now, if he cant get them promoted he wont get us promoted!!! IMO
*No, if we're waiting till the end of the season a few more managers will be available to us and with decent investment we could do a lot better then Pulis
*Another long ball merchant, thanks but no thanks
*The only thing going for Tony Pulis is his undoubted abilty to unite the fanbase.
He would have us all rooting for his head wthin a couple of games, cap and all
*A decent club would come straight out and scotch this rumour. A crap club would consider it as a possibility. WTF is going on? Where has all the money gone? Why are we so tin pot?
*Worrying that 5% DO want Pulis, and 10% could be persuaded. It's a NO from me.
