A lot of people were not fans of Pulis but you can't deny he has done a very good job, has built a good squad and given us a genuine chance of getting promotion.
As a Stoke fan (if indeed you are) how can you not get on board with that?

It's taken him a season and half to build the current squad and it's not complete yet. I'm a Stoke supporter are you?

It's his style of play that's the problem.

I would think that most teams would setlle for building a promotion-challenging squad within 2 seasons and I think progress would have been more rapid had we not been scuppered at various stages by players such as Higginbotham, Hendrie and even Griffin over the summer.
Pulis has managed to integrate new players at a steady rate whilst maintaining the excellent team spirit that is so evident to anyone who has seen us play and while I haven't been his biggest fan, I think he deserves immense credit for that.

THAT IS SHIT.
It is odds on that we wont get promotion .
fucking stupid, i pray to god that we get promoted for the sole fact that this guy stays, but tbh the papers are probably talking bollocks.....
"style of play". Im not sure about you but the feeling of getting 3 points is the much better than stringing 5 wonder passes together.
He is the best we have had in decades, and WE WONT get any better in the near future.

Would be absolutely amazed if this was true but you never know in football and as for you Spiderman do us all a favour and fook off.

Spiderman, do you think a season and a half is too long for a manager to build a squad? Do you know anything about football?
Pulis is building a really good squad and is taking us in the right direction. Any fan, no matter how much they initially disliked Pulis, can’t fail to recognise that and give him due credit.
I imagine your either an attention seeker or you just know uttershyte about football.
p.s. I think the Pulis/Souhtampton link is probably lazy journalism. Southampton position available…….Pulis based on the coast……..Pulis doing well as Stoke manager…….putting 2 and 2 together and getting 67…

I did not want Tony Pulis back I wanted Megson but Tony Pulis has and is doing a great job. For those of you who do not like Pulis - go to the ground on a training day and when you see him talk to him. He could chat for England and is very approachable. When he first came he was defensive to the extreme perhaps but if you remember our squad was virtually 10 centre backs and a couple of goalies. He has now brought in the players he wanted. We are now the second highest scorers in the league and if poor old Mama could hit a barn door we could even be top. ;D I do not understand some of his decisions nor why the bench and sometimes team, have certain players there - but we are looking so good this year - I cannot argue with the mans percentage in getting it right.

Some of the fellows who sit near to one were on about this. Southampton are a bigger club and Mr Pulis still lives down south so it makes sense really

I find it strange that such a rumour would be started with so much of the season to go - at worst it could be de-stabilising as far as we are concerned and I think Southampton should either put up or shut up. However I don't think it is just 'lazy journalism' as this 'rumour' as been circulating for a couple of days in the southampton area, supposedly from sources within the club. Personally I would want Pulis to stay, promotion or not, but automatic promotion would shut everyone up, hopefully including spiderman!! ;D

I think Pulis will stay ma’lord.
He’s building something good here and lets face it, why move back down south and spend more time with the missus?!

lord,
I wa discussing this with some of my friends what you say is true but also. Look at it on the postive side.
Tony Pulis as got a boss who trusts him and basically as long as coatesy is here. Pulis as got a job at Stoke. He's worked hard to get the team he wants. There is no reason why he would want to leave, especially with southamptons history with mangers and getting players in and selling players. The fans exect bif things, more than us Stoke fans do.

I wish TP or someone at the club would come on and laugh this rumour off. The silence is deafening.
How many times have teams lost it on the pitch when rumours of their manages being eyed up by other clubs. It should be put to bed as soon as possible, ideally by TP.

Kelker, I’m sure TP has already laughed it off. He did at the weekend, but I wish he would laugh a little bit harder again. It needs a definite thanks but no thanks, to stop the rumours carrying on. Come on TP show us your laughing smile. ;D ;D

1. I can't see Southampton being managerless until the end of the season.
2. Apart from location what the frig would Pulis gain from going to Southampton in footballing terms?
3. I don't reckon he would leave even if we don't get promoted aslong as we make the play-offs
4. He'll never work with another chairman who quite obviously wants his babies like Coates does.
