Can anyone shed some light on the origins of this song? It seems that the fans of almost every club in the playoffs this year have been singing it, but who started it?
I remember us singing it about ten years ago, but I don't remember ever having heard it before that.

we were singing it in 91/2 season at least, my Dad knew it then and that was after a 15-year break from the mighty Potters. so Wembley is right

Tune and "EIEIEIO" from Knees up Mother Brown ...
Song associated with Cockney culture. Probably adopted by West Ham fans originally. I remember KUMB being sung on the Vic Boothen in the 70's.
Knees up Mother Brown Knees up Mother Brown Under the table you must go Ee-aye, Ee-aye, Ee-aye-oh If I catch you bending I'll saw your legs right off Knees up, knees up Never get the breeze up Knees up Mother Brown
Oh my, what a rotten song What a rotten song What a rotten song Oh my, what a rotten song And what a rotten singer Too-oo-ooh
