I have bought a season ticket, and i want to run on the pitch, is that so bad ? Well if you go on the pitch you'll be banned next season, so it will be a bit of a waste of money, that's all. They wont ban 1000's, they didn't last year so why will they this year?

There is absolutely no comparison between this season and last season...when 23 years of pent-up frustration were released at the final whistle..the way it was at Notts County in 1979....when there was also a mini-pitch invasion after Richardson scored, before the final invasion at the end..
Tomorrow is completely different..there is no need to go on to the pitch and anyone who does is a fool and deserves everything they get..which will probably be life bans if the club wish to enforce the strict letter of the Law.
After all the bad publicity we've recieved over the West Ham/Boro games..the last thing we need is for people to run onto the pitch at the final whistle..
It ain't funny and it ain't clever...

I agree, keep off the pitch. The players doing a lap of honour will be sight enough in itself, lets all give them the huge cheer they damn well deserve and let everyone leave happy.

I'm thinking of taking a small shovel with me so I can dig up a bit of the pitch for my back garden.

Beardy what exactly is wrong with what I've said? Running on the pitch at the end of a nothing game is an incredibly selfish and greedy thing to do. And as I made clear, it's also a stupid thing to do, with the club having made clear they will take a pretty dim view. My sincerest apologies if I've offended you. He's just annoyed because it's his job to be personally abusive.

Anyone who thinks there will be thousands on the pitch tomorrow and that therefore there will be safety in numbers should have a look at this thread. Unlike last season when it was clear from the message board that thousands were thinking of going on the pitch, this year a very small minority (100 or so?) plan to do it. I have no doubt that the club WILL ban at least some of those who do it - the ones they catch. No doubt anyone who gets banned will appeal for support from the majority of Stokies - well they won't get any sympathy from me and probably not from most of us who stay in the stands. Let the team and their kids do their lap of honour - is it really worth a ban just to get on the pitch for a few minutes?

No doubt there'll be a few who try to get on the pitch at the end of the game but I doubt it will lead to a full on invasion. Although the Oatcake message board represents only a small proportion of the regular support at the Brit, it has nevertheless consistently provided a pretty accurate barometer of more widespread opinion. Quite clearly there is only a very small minority with intentions of creating a pitch invasion, which is completely different to the numbers who had this intent last season. The club also did not threaten to ban people who went on the pitch after the Leicester game. This threat combined with masses of stewards who will have a far easier time picking off the early runners, will soon have the kids sheepishly returning to their seats. Some WILL make it on but I imagine the majority will stay in the stands voicing their disapproval. I'd feel like a bit of a prick if I managed to get onto the pitch and then realised everyone else was still in their seats. EDIT: Indeed Lakeland.

I wouldn't worry about a pitch invasion at all. The mindless fools who are talking about it here aren't real fans and most probably won't even turn up to the game!! Also, all the club would need to do is get Abdoulaye on the mic before the game saying that he wants everybody to stay off the pitch and I can't see anybody disputing him!!

I know loads who will be running on the pitch, so don't think there will only be a few, where have the club said they will ban people this year? TP has asked fans to stay off the pitch so that the team can do their lap of honour - isn't that good enough for you. Look mate, you're either a wind up merchant or a glory hunter who's upset because you weren't there last season and missed out on the pitch invasion then. Grow up.

I have said this on this MB before. Anyone who goes onto the pitch on Saturday is not, never has been and never will be a Stoke supporter. If you wish to besmirch the name of the club just do as you wish. One thing is for sure, we will never miss you.

Fair enough if thats the case. However, I can't see how you can find enjoyment in doing something that the players and manager who you supposedly support and adore are completely against you doing! Let alone the fact that most of your cotempories are clearly agaisnt this and the obvious risk of bans from watching your beloved team! The risk of not seeing a Stoke game next year in itself is far too much of a risk for most supporters
