Anyone but Salop please no town deserves a football club less. I could think of several..... Gillingham for a start I actualy wanted either Bury or Rochdale but of the 2 left it's got to be Shrewsbury surely ???

Scally is one of footballs bad guys but Gillingham although a small club is actually far more of a football area than Shrewsbury
I 'lived' in Shrewsbury for 5 years & other than a match day saw someone wearing the club colours at the very very most 3 times in FIVE years. the people there (& I specificaly mean the town not Shropshire) apart from being so far up their own arse simply dont follow football in the same way we do.NOT a football town.

My mate from Shrewsbury is a shrewsbury fan and he follows football!
However he also looks out for the Man U results, i don't knock him for it though because he does still put Shrews first. (Bit of a gloryhunting twat though none the less)

no surprise there
what would happen if someone - & I'm talking adults here - was wearing a Mn Utd shirt & went in the Boothen End (Im not condoning violence mind)? standard practice at the Gay Meadow & I doubt thats changed at the new ground.

Probably not, but at least Shrewsbury get the money.
I think short term and current climate especially then thats key for the lower league clubs!
(Shrewsbury are quite well off though I believe)

Lordb I work in Shrewsbury and I do know what you mean but I'd have to go with them over Gillingham If we're talking about towns which don't deserve a football team however look no further than Milton Keynes.... They had to steal theirs !!
