....do a Fergie / Gradi type thing and be here for years to come?
Lets be honest the relationship between him and Saint Peter is pretty unique in this day and age, maybe it would be good for the club, maybe it wouldn't who knows.
What he has achieved is nothing short of superb really and how I see it is as long as PC is chairman Tone will be manager.
Stability and all that, can only be good.
Thoughts of TP being the longest serving manger in the Prem (without getting ahead of myself ;D ) could actually be possible once Fergie naffs off.

Give it a few loses next season & all the numpties will be out calling for his head like earlier this season.
Might as well give him the job long term.

We must never EVER repeat the mistake Charlton fans made. They thought Curbo wasn't right to take them to the next level and look how it ended up. Delusions of grandeur or what?

The weak link in all of this is St Peter (his longevity). If he was to pop his clogs, then we could be back to square one.
The other obvious thought is if Pulis was approached by a much bigger club and decided to give it a go.
Hopefully by the time St Peter does depart us , we will be in a much stronger financial position and therefore become a much more attractive proposition to prospective investors. It just won't feel the same though some how...?

I'm chuffin glad those "Puffin Munchers" did take over when they did. Goodness knows where we would be now if they hadn't. Some people have got very short and selective memories.

Agreed, Archiesdad - we (and Coates) would have been in deep doodoo if the Icelanders hadn't bought the majority of the shares in the club when they did. However, I do think they hung on for a year too long. It should have been obvious that they lacked the finances to take us forward and their last year in charge lost them money and delayed the refinancing of the club which Coates was, by then, able to afford. Still, it all turned out well in the end, as my old grandmother was so fond of saying. ;D

i think the only people that may cause problems for TP are the fans who suddenly decide that now we've stayed up we have the right to expect Europe and a top 6 finish. There will always be people who are muppets and get above themselves too quickly (God knows we've seen enough of them on here this year, and this has been our FIRST season) Just praying that there aren't too many of them or we'll end up being seen like Newcastle fans by everyone other team. And as long as it doesn't spill out into the Brit, don't want repeat scenes of the fans treatment of Cresswell, booing etc. It was an utter disgrace!

The other obvious thought is if Pulis was approached by a much bigger club and decided to give it a go. Can you really se a bigger club coming in for Pulis? We are one of the biggest 20 clubs in the country. I'm not sure anyone in the top 6 would feel like Pulis was the sort of guy for them, generally he's the man you want if your team is in danger of relegation, and hopefully we are a bigger pull than the relegated teams. He currently presides over a debt free club with money to spend, a great support base and a unique relationship with the chairman, a club he can push forward and is a long way away from fufilling it's possible potential. How many other clubs, outside of the aforementioned top 6, would really be an attractive proposition?

When the Icelandic takeover occured we were in the third tier. When they left we were stable in the second tier. The clearly ran out of steam and money so sold up. Thats a good record. How can anyone be too critical of that?
