i think we should try and get pato back. IMHO we should never have let him go. He never really got his chance at stoke and i fear that in the future he will go on to bigger and better things any thoughts?

We shouldnt of let him go but he would not get into our side and would still be behind; Ricardo Beatts Mama and Henri!!
He just has not got that bit of quality, good luck to the lad though

i think it would be a risk for both paterson and stoke at this present time. i would love to see burnley come up purely to see how Paterson gets on in the prem, we'll have more of an idea of his abilities after he has a season in the prem.
just my opinion of course

I dont think we can say how much quality he has on the evidence he played for stoke. He didnt play enough games for us to go on that. Hes scored plenty for burnley.

i really liked Pato and before this season he would of been only behind Mama and Fuller but just watchign the Reading and Burnley game and he has given the ball away from bad touchs 5 times already in the Premier league you will get murdered doing that in the areas he has done it. I think he will make it at the top of the championship lower premier level perhaps but i dont think he is ready just yet, but thats my oppinion and they might go up and he might be a great. good luck to the lad

Hes scored plenty for burnley. 12 in 43 games for Burnley isn't bad, but it isn't fantastic. I think it'd be a big gamble for us to pay the fee burnley would be hedging for, for someone with no proven experience at this level. There is no doubt Patto has, and always has had potential, but is he any better than what we have at our disposal at the moment? No for me.....

im not saying that he would walk into the team. But u can see that he is only young and has got loads of potential. I can honestly see him signing for man u 1 day and we will all look back and say god we should never of let him go!

Would make more sense than Geovanni, but still very unlikely as he doesn't really fit either of TP's striking roles, and I don't see a change in the way we play coming very soon.

if he can score regularly like he just did then he's worth more than we can afford.
and what an irony - Kitson comes on

2056: GOAL Reading 0-1 Burnley (agg: 0-2) That is a phenomenal goal, but Martin Paterson, having picked the ball up inside his own half, is allowed to run at the Reading defence without ever having to beat a challenge. When he gets 30 yards out, Paterson hits the sweetest left-foot drive you could imagine that fairly sails into the corner, beating Marcus Hahnemann's despairing dive. Gorgeous goal

Im sure he is a good player in the championship but not proven at the highest level and not being funny but now we a prem side for the second season we should be setting our sights higher....
