Now as our first season in the Premier League has nearly reached it's climax, what impact does everyone believe it has had on the local area, peoples perception on the club, team and it's fans?
What have been the major differences between the club being in the Championship to that of the Premier League.
Discuss..

I can't speak for the local area as I don't live there any more. But, for me, it has meant that I care about EVERY game. I'm a bit more relaxed at the games against the top teams because expectations are lower - but, in general, every game means something.
I hope that the chance of seeing Premiership teams every other week at the Brit will have got a few youngsters supporting their local team and will have brought many of the lapsed older generation flocking back!
For the first time since it was built the Brit really rocks at most games. Long may it continue.

There is an intangible feeling that if a club is doing well then its local area must be thriving too, or at least have a positive outlook. Imagine the international impact of the publicity that the area has relieved, for example, if you were an export business based in Stoke. Whether it's had any tangible effect on the local economy remains to be seen though.

The atmosphere The football on show The world class footballers we get to see from other teams as well as our own week in week out. The buzz around the ground/city on a match day The coverage our great club now gets worldwide and once craved The away days back to the good old days bar a fair few bad results but god dam enjoyable nonetheless and visiting some of the worlds most historic famous stadiums Match of the day Football first Transfer deadline day August/January ABDOULAYE FAYE!!!
The whole god damn experience has been a dream from start to finish and long may we be part of it for many years to come.
Crikey I am in love with my club so so much and it has been well worth the wait, I don't want it to ever end.

It really is an unbelievable contrast to the dark days under Coates first time round, and we could've quite easily ended up like the situation the Vale are in now.
Maybe one of the exiles could answer this for me but how are we percieved away from Stoke on Trent in general? And what is Stoke on Trent, as a place generally viewed like now we are in the Premier League?

Any exiles, JoeInOz be able to help me out as to the perception of Stoke City abroad and other peoples thoughts on the town now we're in the Premier League?

Wherever I go as a part of my job, I can talk football to 'break the ice' with the people I am meeting. They all know about Stoke City and Rory Delap.
A few years ago I took my family on a tour of the old Wembley. We were asked who we supported. When we told them, we got 2 replies; who? and why? Don't think we'd get that response know.

Any more exile stories?

Only exiled in Wolverhampton, but all season when I go into the pub of a Saturday night in Wolves they all seem a lot more interested in The Mighty Potters. Get the occasional dig about Rory, but in general seem a lot more interested than when we actually played in the same league as them!
Next season could be fun...

Up here in Cumbria there are a lot of Newcastle supporters and most of them have been very complimentary about our ownership and our manager. Not difficult for Coates to shine when compared to the shambles created by Mike Ashley, of course.
My postman supports Carlisle but has a glory hunting son who he takes to about 10 Newcastle games a season. He has told his son he can make his own way to St James Park next season - whatever league they are in! ;D
I often get compliments about the way we have done in our first season from people who have seen the Stoke badge on my jacket. A lot of my generation (in my 60s) often say it is good to see one of the "proper" clubs back in the top flight.

Cheers for everyone's input, reason i asked was because i'm doing an essay on our local History and decided to base mine on Stoke and how our arrival in the Prem has had an effect on the local area and put the Oatcake down as a source!
Input is greatly appreciated and any more is welcomed!

What a wonderful season it has been
Nobody can deny that at the start, we were strong favourites to go straight back down, and given the last game of the season, not many would have fancied our chances of going to the Emirates "needing something to stay up"
To be almost safe with 5 games to go, is a remarkable achievement, and when you add to that a quarter final in the Lager Cup, then what more can be said
Full houses every week, the third best home record in the top flight, worldwide coverage, but for me the one thing that really stands out this season is the way TP has conducted himself, both in success and defeat.
How many managers would have gone ballistic on Boxing Day when the antics of Rooney and Ronaldo went unpunished? What did Pulis do? Had a quiet jibe about an equal playing field and got on with the job in hand.
Full credit to the boss, the staff, the chairman, all the players, and last but not least the noisiest set of supporters in the land
Long may it continue
