On the BBC Football predictor I put us down as losing all our remaining games and our relegation rivals winning. Where rivals were playing each other I gave the win to the higher placed team. Doing this we get relegated with a 5 point gap. Therefore 6 points needed for safety. Victories against Hull and Wigan should do it.

all our rivals arent gping to win though are they so therefore we dont need 6 point for safety as every week when our rivals dont win it will reduce the amount of points we need

That's a lot of points. Hopefully 3 will do it.

is it really that many? I was hoping one win or a couple of draws would do it...i don't think i could stand the uncertainty for much longer

Well, Boro already need 3 wins from 5 to catch us up - Newcaslte hopefully will be in the same boat after today's game. Hull are dropping like a stone and Sunderland's run in is quite tasty too.

The thread is about "Mathematical Safety" which means when it is mathematically impossible to be relegated. Realistically I agree that 3 more points will probably be enough.

Yeah i agree, the runins the likes of boro, newcastle and Hull have are really hard so i recon 3 points to 42 would do it.!

I think as long as we get at least a draw away at Hull we are safe, providing we do that, I cant see them getting enough points from their other games to go above us. I also cant see Middlesborough getting the 3 wins that they need to go above us with their run in. This is even with the assumption that we dont pick up any points in the other 4 games.

I can't see 2 of Boro, Hull, Sunderland and Newcasle reaching 39.
I'd like another point at Fulham though , for a bit of insurance.
Thn I think we can start the party, if we haven't already.
