What d'you reckon?
I think their squad at present is slightly stronger than ours was when we were promoted, including the one thing everybody wants, a genuine quality goalscorer in Ebanks-Blake.
That being said, I'll think they'll have to spend significantly, but if McCarthy can bring in the players of the likes we did in Abdoulaye, Beattie and Sorensen, I think they could do.
I just hope they play proper footabll in the Prem, not West Brom style tripe.

I think they might do a Stoke. Their squad certainly is stronger than ours was and McCarthy will probably have learned by his relegation battle at Sunderland a few years back. I think Sheffield United will also give it a good go if they manage to get promoted. They have done very well to cope brilliantly after selling Beattie - and they have £5 million per year bonuses to look forward to from Wet Sham.
One thing is certain, none of the promotion candidates look likely to make the same mistakes as Mowbray has at West Brom.

No reason why they can't.
I'd be reluctant to write anyone that comes up - look how we were called the next Derby etc etc ...

Although Mad Mick's been there before, they've only got two players with any PL experience (Craddock & Jones), so they'll need to do some SERIOUS rebuilding over the summer.
I think they'll make a better fist of it than Brazil though.

I think they might. I don't want to see anyone on here writing off any of the promoted teams. Last season I hated it when we came up and everyone and I mean everyone said we'd be gone by Christmas. Personally I'd like to see Sheff Utd go up automatically BUT I don't think they will. Providing they come up with Birmingham I think there will be three very strong (stronger than the 3 promoted teams last season) who will stand a chance of staying up. One of them will go down, I don't know which one, but I certainly thing they'll all give it a shot. I'd personally like Wolves to stay up, I see them as a bit of a rivalry, the games will probably be quite close and it's nice to see change. It would be good if 3 teams went down who hadn't been promoted just to mix things up a bit. Any Wolves fans reading this, good luck, and ignore the shit you will inevitably get off "pundits" up and down the country over the summer.

Well if we stay up (!) they can look at us as proof it can be done. One more reason why our survival would be good for football.

Its a massive step up and they will need to shore up the defence imho. After what we have done nothing is impossible.

As said here beofore, it purely depends on what experienced premier league players they can get and how Mick can get them to work with what they have now. It's not that long ago that Wolverhampton were in the top flight so they know as a club what it is like and how to deal with that. Let battle commence, one fixture at the top of the list for me next season.

Unless they spend A LOT! i really cant see them staying up. When you think that their time is built on players like kightly and keogh - it quite simply isnt good enough. I am shocked that their team has done so well in the champ even, think teams like reading have better squads.

By which they probably just mean they're going to put a roof on that corner they put in, where they give away free plastic Macs. Wolves will need to spend money and make big improvements to their squad BUT so did we. It's just one of those things that's necessary for the Premiership. Apparently they've used their wingers a fair bit this season, putting balls in the box for Iwelumo so I can't see the going down the diminutive pitch route. Imagine if Glenn Hoddle was still their manager, eh? If they're prepared to spend the cash, they should do alright. They perhaps need a new goalkeeper, their young lad really got the jitters at the end of the season. Birmingham are my tip for Brazildom. They are completely at war with themselves, their board are complaining about the size of their squad, their manager is complaining about everything else, crowds are down and nobody seems very interested in them. Their ground was half empty last season as well. Apathetic fan base, rubbish manager, board out of control. They are a grade A disaster zone and are going to have a big clear out this summer.

I think your summary is pretty poor as Wolves' team is very good and you named possibly their best players after Ebanks-Blake.
