Yes I saw him too and after the initial disappointment thought why don't the club offer a half price home shirt amnesty to kids who want to trade in their Utd or Arsenal shirts. The Utd shirts could be sent to Africa or somet and the club'd get good PR out of it. There was a great call to Radio Stoke after the game from some bloke who said "Give your Utd and Arsenal shirts to your mum for use as a duster and go and get a red and white striped shirt and if you don't wanna do that go and get a Vale shirt and support your local sides". Brilliant comment. That's a great idea - a shirt amnesty. I hope the lad enjoyed the game and will be wearing a Stoke top next time he comes.

Tazi's mate heard that he was in a pub in Newcastle and heard him say 'I'm a 9 year old and a glory hunting Manure fan and can have any woman in this pub that I want' then he got decked.

i blame the people in charge of the club shop...
i aked this lads granddad why his grandson had a manpoo shirt on and he replied.. "they dont have any stoke tops for sale at the stoke city club shop"...
and the fact that this young lad will be seen as something lower than a slugs arsehole for
the rest of his life.
i dont blame the kid i blame the parents, they should charged with child cruelty and gross neglect of a child and failing to bring a child up in the corect way ....

My son started to support Man Ure as his dad is from there but luckily I divorced him and there is no way any child of mine is going to be a Man Poo fan. Suffice to say he wears the red and white with pride and argues our corner in a class full of Man Poo and Chelsea. These kids really need some guidance

Have you been in 'our' shop , it is impossible to get a replica shirt for a 7-8 year old. If you don't believe me go and ask. Its a fucking joke.

My oldest Grandson wore a Man.Ure top when he was too young to know any better , Peer pressure from his next door neighbours and the fact his other Grandad is a Vale fan were other excuses his Dad gave , but I am delighted to say that a couple of years ago he saw the light bless him and now he is a proud season ticket holder at the Brit.

I think some Stokies need to chill out. Are we really suggesting that the club should adopt some sort of dress code? Feck me they can't even get people to stop smoking in the bogs - no way can they enforce a dress code for 9 year olds! We get closer to a Police State every day!

Or something.

There's a couple of ways this can be dealt with, and lets be honest - it needs dealing with. First things first, we need to find him. The Original Poster can be tasked with this.
Then we have a choice. Do we slap him, buy him a ST for the Vale as a punishment, make him sit amongst the other 65 then bring him back next year fully loaded with a Stoke top - completely cleansed and rehabilitated?
Or do we just nick his top and burn it?
Or do we take away any of his remaining Easter Eggs?
Yes i'm joking!

In '93 my son said 'dad I follow Arsenal now', I told him go and get me your Stoke top, he did, then I said tomorrow me your brother and mum are going to see Stoke play, you can stay here (Cambridge) and see if any of your Arsenal mates will let you stay with them for the day whilst we enjoy our day at Stoke.
Needless to say he cried vowed never to be such an idiot again. Moving on some 16 years he still follows Stoke, they had no choice, simple parenting really, its not rocket science support stoke or find another home. And you think Im joking?

Quite clearly he needs to be taken into Local Authority Care by Social-Services.. To allow one of your children to wear a Man U top absolutely beggars belief... Talk about plumbing the depths of depravity.. Ever likely this country's in such a mess with people like this...irresponsible..worthless..feckless...despicable....

kids as young as this support anyone who is popular or whoever they`re told to support. here`s two instances. #1, my brother in law is a leeds fan & from yorkshire as are his two sons, when they moved to stoke 5 years ago they youngest-then 8 said his new mates were stokies as are half his family as his mum is from stoke and that he wanted a stoke shirt-his choice-so mum got him one. dad was`nt happy & suddenly(after 10 years of never attending a leeds game) decided he was going to start taking the boy to leeds games & FORCED him to spend his birthday cash on a new leeds top. the lad now wears that top all the time & has a new one sent from his gran in yorkshire EVERY season but no longer goes to games. you see, he does`nt want to let his dad down, poor kid. i do suspect though when he`s older he`ll follow stoke.
#2, lad up hanley sports shop in stoke shirt with his mum & dad. hes 8ish & they`re all local. dad says "get this chelsea kit" lad asks why? dad says "cus it`ll annoy your grandad". so the boy has the strip & says "i`m not stoke now, i`m chelsea". it pissed me off enormously but sadly parents are in control of young kids minds until they can make their own decisions.

Grayscfc, as I said, I was not joking, and both my sons (now in their 20's) go to Stoke from Colchester, I was not having any of this I dont support Stoke anymore crap, my house my rules simple. Sounds harsh but tough. It worked because they both love Stoke.
Besides its a great father son bonding thing as they get older and buy the beers love it, we have a right laugh travelling on the train from London drinking beer, its a brillliant day.

Ever thought of the fact that the lad had put on his football shirt in the morning knowing he was off to watch a game of football with his grandad, grandad comes and picks him up from his parents house and realises what his grandson is wearing but thinks nothing of it as the boy is only NINE YEARS OLD and is sure to offend no-one/encite trouble with no-one? Local rivalries matter not to 9 year olds.

Mr Royegg, Sir, those are fabulous pics. I'll bet you are one very proud grandad. As far as the lad in the Manure shirt goes then there are a couple of ways of looking at this. 1) I would never let my grandson wear a manure shirt going to a Stoke game. Why? There are a few neanderthals at Stoke who wouldn't stop at giving a kicking to a nine-year-old for wearing it and also his grandfather for allowing him to wear it. Only last week we heard of them giving a kicking to a bloke on crutches. So, the grandfather wants his head examining. 2) If any of my grandsons wanted to wear a manure top at any time, I'd kick his arse from here to Cheadle. OS.
