By the looks of it most of them think that they will beat Stoke. Can't blame them, they NEED to beat us really but I don't think they realise where they're coming to...the bearpit!

If we avoid defeat we will stay up. As Karl says, they have to win it.

I don't think they'll fancy it provided we greet them with howls of malevolence and derision at the Bear Pit. I am on the front row of West Stand so I will try and give them some abuse while they're warming up - give them a taste of what to expect
Over paid scum

yes...
I'm getting a bit concerned that our (the fans) attitude is "softening" .... all this talk of not singing abusive songs and some friendly banter with the Geordies and applauding Shearer etc.
We have made the Brit a hostile, unfriendly bear-pit this season, which has scared the shit out of most visiting teams...
let's not be any different Saturday
a cold wind and an abusive hostile crowd is what we need.
bollox to the cameras and journos.

Disagree actually, while his last few games he has made mistakes, he has been one of their better players. One of my mates is a castle fan and loves him. Im more concerned that Taylor will be back

The thing is Shearer is probably more aware of Stoke and our tatics that any other manager from sitting on his sofa! You can bet a large sum of money that all this week they are rehearsing for Delaps bombs. We've got to hammer them from the off and get them straight on the back foot not only will this most cause them to make mistakes but also get the volume in the Brit up to full belt. The time unlike at SJP they can't move the advertising boards nearer to the pitch to restrict run ups!
If we do get into them and I fully expect us to I really do expect us to beat them and convincingly with it. Shearer can only give them a team talk before hand it can't change a season of shite performances! From the off we need Ethers and Lawrence running at there FBs forcing as many throws in and around the final third as possible and they'll soon wither.
To be honest I think this is the kind of game that suits us down to the ground much like the Tesco bag boys the Cartoon Army ain't up for a fight!

I'm wondering how we'll approach this game. Fielding Saturday's XI would be a strong signal of intent that we want to attack from the off and get them on the back foot. Will Pulis risk that against Newcastle though, maybe a bit fearful of reputation and their pace on the break? I can see him throwing Amdy or Diao in there somewhere as a bit of extra cover, probably in for Whelan. He might even go back to Rory on the left or right wing. I hope not because I think that Saturday's team is without a doubt our strongest possible XI. It's what Pulis sees though, he was going absolutely ballistic on the touchline on Saturday, more so than you see at most home games, perhaps more than when Hoefkens was here. I think his concern will be that middle third of our half around the edge of the box that wasn't so well covered on Saturday. He might be fearful of shots coming from outside the box, of somebody like Martins just smacking on and it flying in. He really could see this as Amdy-time.

i think he will play either Amdy or Salif Saturday with either Ethers or Lawrence on the bench.

Taylor and Bassong are both coming back from injury, so its not like its a fully fit John Terry or Rio Ferdinand strengthening there defence is it!!!

I hope it isnt Steven Taylor coming in, that F.A. Cup game we had against him he was immense. Could of done with Coloccini playing, would have loved to see Riccy and BT against him.
Cacapa anyone?

Amdy is ex-Newcastle of course (always a factor in my book)

Ollie came on on Saturday so maybe he's back in the frame?

I think tony will probably drop lawrence and move Delap to the right, bringing in Amdy... (please not DIAO).....I wouldnt do thata and would love to see the same team as the 1 against BRAZIL.
I am worried about this game, a draw would be fine for me as it keeps that all important 6 point gap!!
