I wonder if the mighty West Brazil can come up with any excuses about yesterday's result.
We were simply better than them in every single department, playing some good composed football, utilising the width in our team whilst being direct when needed.
We also saw an accomplished display from a top quality footballing centre half and we took a set of supporters who backed there team to the hilt.
No time wasting, no nasty Stoke City...simply a team that was far superior in every single department than our Brazilian hosts.
Morrison apart (and maybe Brunt as useful back up to Ethers), they don't have one player that would get anywhere near our team.
What a great day!
I sincerely hope that Mr Hancock managed to follow up his discussions with the Baggies radio station after their entertaining debate after last seasons fixture.

To be honest the baggies fans that i have spoken to have been reasonably gracious in defeat, they are more pissed of with Mowbray than us, however they must despise us by now

Dave, We had a drink with some Baggies fans after the game and they were totally demoralized. They wanted Mad Moanbray out and wanted to see someone with a grip on reality managing their team (thats their words not mine)

Morrison is a central midfield player though so wouldn't compromise Lenny at all.
He looks a good player to me and would be a more than useful squad player who wouldn't weaken us if played. It could be argued that he is as good as, if not better than Whelan too.
I would rather Gary O'neil to be honest if there is a midfielder up for grabs from a relegated team.
A old work colleague text me last night with the following words "no excuses this time...you were miles better than us and it hurts like hell. Can't believe how far backwards we have gone".
You have to feel for the more realistic amongst their ranks, even if only a little bit.

I'm sure Chris Lepcockski will have one tucked up his sleeve, rabbit-out-of-a-hat-like, somewhere in the Brummy Mail report tomorrow. It'll be interesting to see how many portions of humble pie are swallowed. Length of grass? Sun in Carson's eyes? Time of the month for the midfield? www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/west-bromwich-albion-fc/west-bromwich-albion-fc-news/2009/04/06/albion-s-jonas-olsson-has-no-gripes-with-ricardo-fuller-97319-23319020/www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/west-bromwich-albion-fc/west-bromwich-albion-fc-news/2009/04/06/stoke-keep-leaps-to-defence-of-albion-s-scott-carson-97319-23319019/Interesting what story the next Hawthorns programme will report too, after the last couple of gems, post-Stoke. "Stoke train with cannons, rescued from local medieval ruins," said Albion's anonymous programme report. "Footballs are loaded into them and fired into the distance for [Mamady] Sidibe to head and [Ricardo] Fuller to run after. It's a game plan that squeezes the life out of what used to be known as football."Football as played by the Terracotta Army, a land of the giants where you’re as well to stick your boots on your head as your feet. At the top of the team-sheet is the legend, ‘We are Premier League’.
“Ugly, ungrammatical and, may the Lord be praised, untrue – because if Stoke are Premier League give me Pro-Celebrity Bat Drenching any day of the week.
“When you go out at Liverpool, the players come out of the tunnel beneath a sign that says, ‘This is Anfield’.
“Presumably there is one at the Britannia that reads, ‘Abandon all football ye who enter here’.”

I think that Brunt is a good player for them, he has a good left foot. Wouldn't bother with any of the others though, thank God we didn't end up with Carson.

I said "could be argued". I haven't seen enough of him to comment really, but he looked a decent player to me yesterday (there best player by a mile) and one who would possibly fit in very well with us. I believe Gleghorn noted similar in his Radio Stoke commentary. I like Brunt (more on past showings than yesterday's) but Pulis doesn't rate him and turned down the chance to sign him before he joined Albion.

Mindblowing to think a Stoke player is on nudging £2m-a-year though.
That would've maybe been 60% of the wage bill 6-7 years ago.
We're not just in a different world now, we're in a different galaxy.
Coatesy has gone balls out and it looks like it may have come off for him. Everything he's touched in his second spell at the helm has turned to gold.

Fairly confident Beattie is on £28,000
