He's not done so well since he resigned his England job before the last World Cup has he?
I will always be grateful to him for rescuing our 2002 world cup qualification campaign, post Keegan, including the unforgettable wins against Germany (5-1) and beating Argentina in the tournament itself.
Good luck to him.

It's become quite fashionable to take the piss out of Sven
But after Kevin 'Just Love It' Keegan walked out on England..Sven was appointed as England coach despite a hate campaign orchestrated by the gutter-press ...and we went to Munich knowing we had to win there for the first time ever , and despite all the odds, beat the Germans 5-1
We Beat Germany 5-1 in Munich FFS
And for that result I will always admire Sven

Wouldn't surprise me if Tango gets the sack and Sven comes in as a replacement just in time for our visit to the KC.

Sven's downfall is that we expect to win the world cup every time, and nothing else is good enough.
Are English fans the national equivalent of the Geordies?

For England when it mattered he did freeze a bit. Take the Brazil game, Beckham should never have been playing and he cost us the game really. And then he dithered making decisions. And then in 2006 Walcott and Owen really never shoud have been on the plane out there.
Good luck to him though.

The whole Rooney metatarsal business seemed to derail his preparations. I appreciate the job he did when Keegan quit though, especially the 1-5 in Berlin. Who can forget that?!!? Oh and what about the 1-0 win over Argentina, world cup 2002. Oooooh that was satisfying.

Pisser ;D I have watched El Tri vs USA for years; they never looked worse than with Sven in charge. Good riddance from their standpoint. Nowt personal, hope he lands in his feet. Or horizontally with some new lady like sweet FA

I must admit, he did give me one of the best nights as an England fan with the result in Munich, but tbh honest, he hasn't really done much in our domestic game.
Sven for Pompey in the summer then.

For all his faults (never dropping his favourites, weird substitutions, the Walcott debacle, struggled to change a game), he is one of the best England managers of the last 20 years. His record at club level is outstanding as well.

I must be the only one who think`s he`s an overpaid, overhyped tosser.Bring him back to the prem with a club with no budget and it`s one less relegation place for us to worry about. As for the great result in Germany, which it was.If it hadn`t of been for woeful german finishing in the first half they would have been three up at half time. Funny how Capello seems to have got England doing what he couldn`t.

I'm a big fan of Sven, whatever everyone else says. Look how well he got Man City playing compared to the welsh twat, and he brought in some great players for nowhere near the stupid price of Robinho.
If a prem team gets him as manager they're lucky bastards. Bet he goes to Pompey...

Funny how Capello seems to have got England doing what he couldn`t. What exactly do you mean by this? The message sent out by Capello is clear to England players, play well for your club and you have a chance of being selected, play poorly for England and there is a good chance you will be dropped. No WAGS, no posing, just football Tell me Erikson was the same. His actions were, let beckham do what he wanted, causing ill feeling with the team and playing him when he was not fit,the Wags,Walcott, his paparatzi chasing missus. England failed in Japan in a poor world cup,he was shown up for what he was, fookin useless. I`ll get me tin hat,but it`s all about opinions, and this is mine,it`s football.

They were poor in that world cup game, but they lost to the eventual winners. Sven's England qualified easily for every tournament, and didn't disgrace themselves when they were there. I don't think we're good enough to actually win a world cup - quarter finals is about our level and anything else would be great. When you compare him to the other managers we've had since Robson, who have we had who's better? Capello is moving in the right direction, and I'm a big fan, but it's too early to judge him at this point.

It's appropriate that he gets the sack, as he sure needs one to help him carry off the swag.
