Anyone see this idiot on Setanta the other night ..He said that he and TP dont always see eye to eye which is fair enough and that we would, if we stay up ,continue with same brand of football next year which wouldnt be good enough, fair point, then he said no one likes to play us as all are 6ft tall, fair enough, then he said the Britannia has a Bobbly pitch????? What a Bellend, thought ours was one of the best...anyone else see him.

His team played virtually the exact kind of football when they were in the Prem so I don't know what he's droning on about.
I don't mind Warnock too much these days though. He's one of the few pundits who doesn't seem to have an agenda and just gives his onw opinion, whether it's what the media darlings want to hear or not.

We do replace the horsehair and sand and reseed the pitch from scratch every 3 or 4 years and it was done last summer. So, possibly, when Warnock last brought a team to the Brit the pitch was a bit compacted - there was some criticism of the pitch when the England U21s played at the Brit a few years back and that particular pitch was in its 4th season before being replaced.

It is just so sad how all these managers have to come up with excuses as to why we're winning.
Could it not just be we were better on the day?
No must be the (insert excuse):-

Wanker Warnock also said that it doens't matter how much money Stoke get in the PL, as long as Pulis is in charge 'they won't change the way they play'. Also mentioned that we would probably spend millions on a replacement for Delap's arms!
Stan Collymore was a good lad and mentioned that Stoke are doing what they can to stay in the PL. He said that if we can stay up for a few seasons and get the cash rolling in then we can afford to buy the more gifted players.
This is what led to Warnocks' response above.

time will tell re Pulis changing our style long term.
to a degree when Hendrie pitched up (& then Berger) it was generally agreed that Stoke's football 'improved' in style as well as results. i.e. with better players we played better football some argued this was in spite of rather than because of any designs on the managers part which is a tad churlish really.
be interesting to see how we would play with 'footballing' fullbacks & wingers (to be fair Ethers & Liam arnt donkeys are they).
cant see TP ever playing/buying an out & out creative central midfielder (traditionly a non battling but skillfull type).
certainly the quality of players brought in in Jan was a marked improvement so reasonable to assume TP will be able to attract at least 1 or 2 quality players in the summer (assuming we stay up).
Even if TP still orders the fullbacks to launch sooner or later quality players will play quality football.

He's talking bollocks, absolute bollocks. The better the players the better the football, just ask moanbury and the baggies. It has been said on this thread that when we got Hendrie in and Berger we played better football, well that's the clue. Some of our goals have been superb, the one that ended with Delap scoring at the far post after some lovely little touches and movements, the Fuller goal from a Lenny pass. Stoke do stick to the strengths because we have to because we don't have the type of player to bring that, but at times we show glimpses of what we can do when it comes off. I believe if we get better players we will play better football, it's fucking simple guys!!

You are kidding me right? The budget TP has had in the Premiership is peanuts compared to most! As rightly stated above, in the fizzy pop league when Hendrie, Diao and Berger showed up the standard of football improved. The class showed at that level. It's the same in this league. When we have been around a while and we can afford some REAL talent, then the football will improve again. Maybe you would prefer to be West Brom? Style hasn't won them many points has it? When we are spending 10 million plus on players and paying 50,000 per week then I would expect some more style to go along with the substance. Until then I will happily take the substance and forego the style if it keeps SCFC in the Premier League. So yes, Warnock is a wanker. It was clear his personal issues with Pulis were at the forefront of his pointless attack. He is and always will be a 'grade A' wanker.
