I didn't want to know the flipping score!
Do you reckon we will get more than 5 minutes at the end?

Just watched it. What a joke that penalty decision was (Ronnie Moore with an outrageous dive!), and then a Stoke defender twatted the ball at a Cardiff forward after they scored! The Cardiff player turned round to square up to the Stoke player but had second thoughts when it turned out to be Denis. ;D Great volley from O'Callaghan.

I was there..... if I remember right Denis went off with a cut over his eye and came back on a few mins later stitched up(what a man).We were put in a paddock by the players entrance.

March 24th '79.
Sammy Irvine nearly scored from a brilliant header.
Two good goals from O'Callaghan, and then a second half goal (tap in ) from a Mr.G.Crooks following a Paul Richardson corner.
No- way was it a penalty...just a gentle coming together of shoulders.
Randall was a handfull!
Old Division 2. Brighton were top, Stoke second,Sunderland 4th, WHU were 5th.

Remember coming out of the ground and walking back to the train station (escorted) and constantly being under attack from their lot. Got on the train and they were running across the tracks throwing bricks at the train, we pulled the blinds down and could here the bricks thudding against the windows, when we got outside Cardiff we pulled up the blinds and the window fell in. but hey we won 3-1

Sounded a few there mind when we scored, so is that the season we went up then? seemed to be placed handily in second place behind Brighton with Notts County the from side. How come it went down to the last game? we looked awesome it has to be said

Those were the days when a Second Division match would take precedance over a First Division game on the programme. You wouldn't see that today, if the station had the rights to all divisions (as they had back then). Some nice praise from Brain Moore at the end Oh, and Chelsea on their way down to Div 2 ;D

I remember this game we were in the paddock, some stokies were in a paddock across from us and they got sussed. One lad managed to jump out only to realise his mates were taking a kicking and fair play he dived back in.Its also one of the few places a can remember that our football special got bricked before the game.

Those were also, of course, the days when a second division club (WHU) would be able to poach a top goalkeeper from a first division club (QPR) for a World Record Fee. Oh, and look at the state of those pitches! ;D
